Our students not only learn math and language literacy, but also gain insight into cultural aspects of their target language, fostering a GLOBAL perspective. At CILA, students develop essential 21st-century skills by exploring diverse cultures, gaining respect and understanding, and preparing to live and work in a global community.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview:</span> <br>We are seeking passionate and dedicated substitute teachers for the 2024/25 school year who can step in and support our students’ learning when full-time teachers are unavailable. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of learning and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span><br>- Provide instruction in place of regular classroom teachers, following the teacher’s lesson plans or, if necessary, adapting plans to meet the needs of students.<br>- Support English language literacy, including reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and writing, for elementary students.<br>- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.<br>- Supervise students in various settings including classrooms, recess, lunchtime, and during transitions.<br>- Maintain classroom routines and support students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.<br>- Collaborate with staff and follow school protocols for instructional support and behavior management.<br>- Escort students to and from different locations as needed (e.g., lunchroom, playground, etc.).</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<p>- Bachelor's degree or higher (Education degree preferred, but not required).<br>- Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus.<br>- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements</span><br>- Must be able to escort and supervise students in various settings.<br>- Ability to stand for long periods and engage in physical activity, including stooping, kneeling, and supervising outdoor activities.<br>- Comfortable with varied weather conditions during outdoor supervision.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Additional Information:</span><br>Substitute teachers are on an on-call basis and hours may vary depending on the needs of the school.
