This role focuses on strategy, process design, and vendor framework development—not day-to-day purchasing execution. </p>\n<p>You will partner closely with Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Systems leadership to define procurement standards, strengthen vendor models, and align sourcing processes with long-term organizational growth. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>A Typical Day at Prime Controls</strong> </p>\n<p><strong>Procurement Strategy & Function Development</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Establish procurement as a formal business function with defined structure and operational framework </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop procurement policies, standards, and governance models </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Design scalable procurement processes aligned with future ERP and MRP initiatives </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Create documentation and workflows to ensure consistency and compliance </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Vendor Strategy & Sourcing Models</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Advise leadership on vendor strategy, preferred supplier models, and sourcing approaches </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Define vendor performance standards and governance expectations </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop reporting frameworks to monitor vendor performance, risk, and compliance </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide data-driven recommendations to support cost control and continuous improvement </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Materials Identification & Internal Standards</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Define internal standards for identifying and representing materials independent of distributor part numbers </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Establish criteria for when to create new inventory items versus reuse existing ones </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Design processes that allow multiple vendor part numbers to map to a single internal inventory ID </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, and Systems to ensure part definitions are based on manufacturer specifications and functional equivalence </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Reduce duplicate inventory items and improve inventory visibility and MRP readiness </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Purchasing Enablement & Cross-Functional Alignment</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support Purchasing by defining clear standards, workflows, and decision frameworks </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li> Clarify ownership and handoffs between Procurement and Purchasing </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strengthen purchasing effectiveness while maintaining day-to-day buying responsibility within Purchasing </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>MRP & Systems Alignment</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure procurement processes align with ERP and MRP system requirements </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with Materials Governance and Systems teams on part data and sourcing alignment </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify process or data gaps that could impact planning accuracy </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Continuous Improvement</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Evaluate current purchasing practices to identify inefficiencies or risk </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Implement scalable improvements to strengthen governance and control </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Continuously refine procurement strategy as the organization evolves </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You Will Bring</strong> </p>\n<p><strong>The Basic</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated experience building or leading a procurement or sourcing function </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of procurement strategy, vendor management, and purchasing workflows </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience designing cross-functional processes and governance models </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to influence stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Systems </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>The Preferred</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience supporting ERP or MRP implementation initiatives </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Background in manufacturing, engineering, construction, or project-driven environments </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience collaborating with established purchasing teams </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with materials governance and inventory data management </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p><strong>What We Offer</strong> </p>\n<p>Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Health, Dental, and Vision coverage </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Flexible Spending Account(s) </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Generous Paid Time Off </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>401(k) with company match </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Company-sponsored events and team activities </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Work Environment & Physical Demands (Text Only)</h2>Work Environment & Physical Demands  Physical requirements and work environment expectations vary by position.
