Description

Position Summary Delva Tool & Machine is seeking an  Inspection  Manager   for our Cinnaminson, NJ  location.  We’re looking for a hands-on Inspection Manager who can own the entire quality function—from shop floor execution to system-level compliance. This role isn’t about maintaining the status quo; it’s about driving accountability, tightening processes, and ensuring we consistently meet demanding aerospace and defense standards. What You’ll Own Supervise and direct Inspector across incoming, in-process, and final inspection functions; assign work and manage daily priorities. Review inspection plans, control plans, and traveler requirements before jobs are released to the inspection floor. Monitor inspection throughput and queue; identify and resolve bottlenecks to protect production schedule commitments. Ensure all inspection activity is documented accurately including dimensional data, non-conformance reports, and disposition records. Oversee first-article inspection (FAI) activities; review AS9102 packages for completeness before submission. Coordinate with Production and Quality Engineering on non-conforming material disposition, MRB activity, and corrective actions. Enforce gage calibration schedules; ensure inspection equipment is within calibration and properly maintained. Train and onboard Inspectors; assess skills and coordinate development opportunities. Conduct daily team meetings to communicate priorities, quality alerts, and customer requirements. Ensure all inspection activities comply with ITAR technical data handling requirements. Own the inspection department's performance KPIs: first-pass yield, inspection cycle time, on-time completion, and non-conformance rates. Develop and maintain the inspection process including control plans, inspection flow, workstation layouts, and documentation standards. Lead the gage and measurement equipment program: calibration system, MSA/gage R&R studies, and equipment investment planning. Partner with Quality Engineering on PPAP, FAI, customer-specific requirements, and supplier quality inspection activities. Manage the inspection department budget including labor, equipment, and calibration service costs. Lead inspection team hiring, performance reviews, development plans, and disciplinary actions with HR support. Drive continuous improvement in inspection processes to reduce cycle time, improve throughput, and increase data quality. Serve as the inspection department representative in AS9100 audits, customer source inspections, and regulatory reviews. Develop and enforce inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality recordkeeping standards. Lead root cause analysis on systemic inspection escapes or recurring non-conformances.   What You Bring 7+ years inspection/quality; 3+ years management. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required; CQE or CQT certification preferred.   Benefits and Perks Our comprehensive benefits package includes, but is not limited to, a competitive pay rate ($100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience), accrued vacation time, paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, health, dental, and vision insurance as well as Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and life/AD&D insurance. We are a drug-free workplace / Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibit Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: We are committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment. All employment decisions are based on business needs, job requirements, and individual experience and qualifications, without regard to a person's sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, religion, disability, race, creed, color, sex, age, national origin or ancestry, or any other status protected by the laws or regulations in the locations where we operate.
