Description

The Division of Humanities and Fine Arts at Keuka College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses in American Sign Language and American Sign Language-English Interpreting. We are looking for passionate and dedicated faculty members who are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and enjoy working with undergraduate students. This is a pool position, and qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview as needed. General Responsibilities: Teach courses as needed in American Sign Language, such as introductory courses for students in the ASL and ASL-English Interpreting programs. Specific Responsibilities: Instruct students in courses in the American Sign Language and American Sign Language-English Interpreting programs Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus, goals, and objectives Design, administer, and grade essays, examinations, and applicable projects to accurately assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus As appropriate, contribute to program assessment of student learning outcomes based on signature assignments in courses Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and actively engage students Maintain regular office hours to meet one-on-one with students Work with the program faculty to ensure instructional quality and program quality Adhere to College policies and procedures Essential Skills Experience teaching American Sign Language Candidates should have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a student-centered environment Successful candidate will have experience using a variety of teaching strategies and tools
