    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; text-decoration: underline\">POSITION OVERVIEW</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Instructional Coach (IC) will provide instructional support and coaching to teachers as they work to ensure that each student is able to reach their academic potential. The IC's primary role is to work with teachers to support best practices in using data, provide analysis of school-wide trends in instruction, and make recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of need.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; text-decoration: underline\">DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">As an advisor to teachers and the leadership team, the IC is responsible for four main areas:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">a) observing instructional delivery and providing feedback to enhance and support the development of each teacher's content area,</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">b) supporting teachers in the delivery of units and lessons for the development of their year-long curriculum,</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">c) analyzing data in order to support teacher development to meet students' needs, and</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">d) working with the academic staff (grade-level chairs, Directors and Principal in Residence) in the school to support sharing of best practices. </span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Works with the PIR to make instructional decisions based on student performance.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Cultivates a standards-based, data and results-oriented culture.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Observes teachers and provides specific strategies for improved instructional delivery.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Works with teachers and school leadership teams to create and improve aligned curriculum resources.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Collaborates with teachers in determining appropriate resources and support for teachers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Supports teachers by providing feedback on lessons and assessments that align with school, and college-readiness standards, and serves as an expert in national trends/best practices in curriculum development and instructional strategy for historically underachieving students.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">As a leader on the academic team, makes recommendations on best practices for supporting curriculum alignment across all grade levels within the specified content area for all grade levels.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Serves as a teacher coach by providing expert advice on improving and enhancing individual lessons and units based on ongoing analysis. This will include, but is not limited to:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Reviewing lesson plans, unit plans, and assessments</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Understanding scope and sequence models</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Observing classroom instruction and offering comprehensive analysis and feedback</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Providing instructional strategy best practice training, as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Supporting the development of curriculum, using the backward design model and advising scope and sequence based on essential content knowledge that addresses local, state, and national standards.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attends/Leads coaching meetings and professional development training</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Other duties as assigned, including covering ancillary duties or subbing for classroom instruction</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; text-decoration: underline\">KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strongly committed to the mission of Prep Public Schools </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Passionate commitment to improve the minds, characters, and lives of students both in and out of school.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Team player with strong interpersonal skills. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams in a rapidly changing environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrates a growth mindset and a desire to continually improve through feedback</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented, mission-driven culture</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be able to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to create and work within an inclusive environment that honors and supports a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; text-decoration: underline\">EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">3-5 years of highly effective teaching experience as evidenced by student data</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Proficient in managing a team, coaching, and designing curriculum.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Prior experience working in schools and urban communities is preferred.</span></li>\n</ul>",
