We develop and manufacture industrial tools for laser material processing at our Kleinmachnow site with around 100 employees.<br><br>\n  We are seeking an experienced Optical Designer to lead the development of optical systems from concept to production. With a strong grounding in physical principles and expertise in modern simulation tools, you will translate complex requirements into robust, high-performance designs ready for manufacturing.</p>\n <p><strong>ROLES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n <ul>\n  <li>Responsibility for the design and optimization of complex optical systems across the entire value chain</li>\n  <li>Design and specification of opto-mechanical systems, taking into account interfaces with electronics, mechanics, and software</li>\n  <li>Development and definition of optical test concepts and corresponding test hardware</li>\n  <li>Verification of specifications through tolerance analyses, statistical methods, and experimental validation</li>\n  <li>Close monitoring of production ramp-ups and support during integration and testing</li>\n  <li>Technical coordination with suppliers regarding components, manufacturing processes, and quality</li>\n  <li>Direct communication with customers to clarify requirements, concepts, and results</li>\n  <li>Analysis and sustainable resolution of system failures in the field (root cause analysis)</li>\n </ul>\n <p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p>\n <ul>\n  <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optics, Physics, or a related field&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Proven industry experience in optical design, ideally within complex systems&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Strong expertise in lens and mirror design, coatings, and tolerancing&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Experience with optical simulation and modelling tools (e.g. Ansys, Zemax)&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Solid understanding of statistical methods and experimental validation&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Knowledge of optical component manufacturing processes&nbsp;</li>\n </ul>\n <p><strong>Technical &amp; Professional Skills</strong></p>\n <ul>\n  <li>Experience working across interdisciplinary systems (optics, mechanics, electronics, software)&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Proficiency in data analysis and automation, e.g. Python&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Strong analytical thinking with a structured, solution-oriented approach&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>Effective communicator, comfortable working in international, cross-functional teams&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>German (business level) – required for internal collaboration&nbsp;</li>\n  <li>English (fluent) – written and spoken</li>\n </ul>\n <p>Ensure adherence to company’s values (ICARE) in all aspects of your position.:</p>\n <p><strong>I</strong>ntegrity – Create an Environment of Trust<br><strong>C</strong>ollaboration – Innovate Through the Sharing of Ideas<br><strong>A</strong>ccountability – Own the Process and the Outcome<br><strong>R</strong>espect – Recognize the Value in Everyone<br><strong>E</strong>nthusiasm – Find a Sense of Purpose in Work</p>\n <p><strong>APPLICATION &amp; SELECTION</strong></p>\n <p>Current employees who wish to apply should submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the position and how their skills and experience align with the requirements of the role.</p>\n <p>If you require any adjustments or accommodations during the application process, please reach out to&nbsp;[email protected].
