    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Registered Nurse will support the ER initiative and provide quality patient care Manages individualized; goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse provides care, treatment, counseling and health education to the hospitalized patient. The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum. This planning and coordination includes meeting and exceeding compliance with core measures, contributes to reduction in LOS, active participation with all aspects of quality, safety and performance improvement activities, collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team in providing outstanding customer service to patients, family members, physicians and the public. Meets and exceeds the Department of Health Service (DHS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Assesses the patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.</p>\n<p>Develops, discusses and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/family/significant other in order to address all identified needs.</p>\n<p>Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.</p>\n<p>Evaluates the identified problems, care provided and patient's responses are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to assure overall quality of care delivered.</p>\n<p>Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the health care team, in order to assure quality care.</p>\n<p>Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.</p>\n<p>Functions as a role model for current and new staff, and performs patient/customer initiatives to keep patients and families happy.</p>\n<p>Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the critical care division as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the client is addressed. This includes, but is not limited to the age of the client served.</p>\n<p>Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.</p>\n<p>Responsibly follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.</p>\n<p>Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.</p>\n<p>Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.</p>\n<p>Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing</p>\n<p>BSN Preferred</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Minimum Work Experience:</p>\n<p>Basic Computer Skills</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Required Licenses/Certifications:</p>\n<p>Current California RN license</p>\n<p>Current BLS and ACLS certifications</p>\n<p>PALS certification preferred; or within 30 days of hire.</p>\n<p>Basic Dysrhythmia certificate preferred</p>\n<p>Current MAB Certification</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:</p>\n<p>Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism.</p>\n<p>Proficiency in both written and oral English.</p>\n<p>Bilingual in Spanish preferred</p>\n<h2>Hospital Description</h2>\n<p>Greater El Monte Community Hospital has provided healthcare services to the community for over 40 years.
