Be a valuable team member that owns and operates high-availability, cross-cloud, large-volume, data processing system that is one of the foundational pieces of Fortinet-Lacework’s Cloud security platform. Design and implement resilient, flexible, and highly scalable platforms for collecting and processing terabytes per day.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design and develop services to scale to massive customer accounts in the cloud&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Develop functional specifications and design documents by collaborating with stakeholders&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Write high quality, well documented, and well-tested code&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participate in code and design reviews&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Design, build, test, and operate highly scalable, highly available, cost-effective, mission-critical services&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Build roadmaps and goals in partnership with engineering and product teams&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Work cross-functionally with other Engineering, Product Management, Support, Sales teams as well as Customers&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Inform strategic build-vs-buy decisions&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Demonstrate good communication skills and present work to group leadership and at group-wide events&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Actively participate in recruiting other Engineers&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Mentor less experienced Engineers&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related, relevant field&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Solid foundation in Computer science fundamentals&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>6+ years of relevant experience&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Implemented scalable microservices using languages like Java/Go/Rust. Python experience would be beneficial&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience in one or more data stores and technologies including SQL Databases, Snowflake, Postgres, Redshift, Hadoop, Cassandra, Lakehouse etc.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to build systems that balance scalability, availability, and latency&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Great communication skills and a team player&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Used at scale or contributed to the development of the following types of distributed systems&nbsp;- messages brokers (Kafka, SQS), API and application servers (REST, GRPC)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Used at scale or contributed to the development of services in the Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience in containerized deployment or Kubernetes.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience in graph data algorithms and processing.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Built, tested and operated mission critical services and demonstrated service ownership by continuous improvement of services; considering performance, cost and efficiency; being on-call for their services&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11&nbsp;paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. On target earnings for this position is expected to be $185,000 - $265,000 per year.&nbsp;Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.</p>\n<p>All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, and this position is also eligible for commissions based on the terms of the Sales Compensation Plan</p>",
