From apprentices to managers, we’re passionate about the details and deliberate in everything we do.</p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Entry-Level Welding Engineer supports the Welding Manager and project teams by assisting with the development, implementation, monitoring of welding procedures, welder certifications, welder continuity, and project audits. This role provides hands-on exposure to field welding operations, quality control, and construction while building foundational experience in welding engineering within the Heavy Industrial and Mining Group, while also supporting other construction groups within the company.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>1.    Assist the Welding Manager with development, review, and maintenance of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).<br />2.    Assist with monitoring welding activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and project requirements.<br />3.    Assist with tracking welder certifications and support qualification testing questions.<br />4.    Conduct site visits with the Welding Manager or project team to observe welding operations and learn field practices.<br />5.    Help interpret welding codes, standards, and project specifications (AWS, ASME, AISC, etc.).<br />6.    Help respond to field questions and RFls related to welding requirements.<br />7.    Learn and promote safe welding practices in accordance with Sundt safety standards.<br />8.    Maintain welding documentation and qualification records.<br />9.    Support evaluation of welding processes, base materials, and filler metals for project applications.</p><p><strong>Minimum Job Requirements</strong></p><p>1.    AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ability to obtain certification in the future.<br />2.    Familiarity with AWS 01 .1 or similar welding codes.<br />3.    Interest in welding on the construction and fabrication facility levels.<br />4.    Internship or co-op experience in construction, fabrication, or welding-related roles.</p><p>Note: Job Description is subject to change at any time and may include other duties as assigned.</p><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><p>1.    May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis<br />2.    Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures<br />3.    Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis<br />4.    Will interact with people and technology frequently during a shift/work day<br />5.    Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis.<br />6.    Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.<br />7.    Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors</p><p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer Statement: </strong>Sundt is committed to the equal treatment of all employees, and/or applicants for employment, and prohibits discrimination based on race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, color, age, disability, national origin, covered veteran status, genetic information; or any other classification protected by applicable Federal, state, or local laws.</p><p><strong>Benefit list:</strong><br />Market Competitive Salary (paid weekly)<br />Bonus Eligibility based on company, group, and individual performance<br />Employee Stock Ownership Plan &amp; 401K<br />Industry Leading Health Coverage Starting Your First Day<br />Flexible Time Off (FTO)<br />Medical, Health Savings, and Wellness credits<br />Flexible Spending Accounts<br />Employee Assistance Program<br />Workplace Wellness Programs<br />Mental Health Program<br />Life and Disability Insurance<br />Employee-Owner Perks<br />Educational Assistance<br />Sundt Foundation - Charitable Employee-Owner's program</p>",
