Beneath towering Spruce, the Hut offers a great dining alternative for those looking to &#39;get away from it all.  Experience in cooking isn’t required but will help when it comes to this job, being able to work alone and handle a cabin in variable weather conditions is a must.</p><p></p><h1><b><span>Job Responsibilities:</span></b></h1><p></p><p><b>Position Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><b>Event Planning and Management:</b> Organize and execute backcountry dinners and handle reservation needs.</li><li><b>Supply Procurement and Logistics:</b> Purchase and transport food, linens, alcohol, and drinks; manage supplies and personnel in variable trail conditions.</li><li><b>Facility Maintenance:</b> Shovel snow, clear walkways, perform basic hut maintenance (e.g., propane, water, food prep), and conduct generator upkeep.</li><li><b>Staff Oversight and Cleanup:</b> Delegate tasks during meals, manage evening cleanup, and handle alcohol sales at events.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Hospitality and Guest Experience:</b></p><ul><li><b>Exceptional Service:</b> Create memorable backcountry dining experiences, provide excellent customer service, and address guest inquiries and concerns effectively.</li><li><b>Effective Communication:</b> Engage with diverse guests using strong interpersonal skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Administrative Duties:</b></p><ul><li><b>Administrative Support:</b> Assist with tour scheduling, payment processing, and maintain accurate guest and tour records.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Environmental Awareness and Education:</b></p><ul><li><b>Conservation and Education:</b> Stay informed on local regulations and best practices in outdoor recreation; educate guests on environmental conservation.</li></ul><p></p><h1><b><span>Education:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p>High School Diploma or GED</p></li></ul><p></p><h1><b><span>Driving:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p><span>Have a valid Driver’s license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h1><b><span>Preferred Experience:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p>Cooking experience</p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of safety practices, CPR/first aid certification </span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with local geography, trails, and conservation principles.</span></p></li><li><p><span>May require lifting and moving up to 75 pounds.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h3><i><span>All Information above is subject to change at any time.  </span></i></h3><h3><i><span>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.</span></i></h3><h3><i><span>Snowshoe is an equal opportunity employer.</span></i></h3>",
