Description Aviva Family and Children’s Services Mission Statement Aviva believes every child and every family in our Los Angeles community deserves the chance for a brighter future. We provide compassionate support, therapeutic services, and guidance to at-risk children and families. Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Wallis House, the Wallis House Supervisor provides onsite supervision and support to residents and staff utilizing a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach. The Supervisor oversees the safety, security, and daily operations of the facility in accordance with established agency policies, procedures, and service standards. The Supervisor ensures collaborative, coordinated service delivery among all program staff to support a unified, team-based approach to resident services. Any substantive changes to program operations, policies, procedures, schedules, participant services, or programming must receive prior approval from the Director of Wallis House before implementation. Essential Functions Facilitate intakes for new residents, including collecting and entering data, inspecting resident belongings, and orienting residents to house expectations and guidelines. · Liaise with the housekeeper to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully furnished to accommodate resident’s needs. · Conduct room inspections to ensure Residents are properly maintaining their area, clean and neat manner per house rules. · Ensure safety and security within the house at all times. · Provide administrative support by answering the phone and greeting visitors and volunteers, ensuring that they have a positive experience. · Check in with Residents who are on-site to ensure Resident safety and welfare. · Respond to complaints (residents and neighbors) in a timely and professional manner. · Assist with conflict resolution in coordination with PATH worker, always aiming to maintain a fair, positive, and supportive culture. · Must remain in good standing with HMIS (LAHSA’s Homeless Management Information System) requirements and standards. · Provide case management support services, including: o Assisting residents with benefit establishment and entitlement applications o Assisting residents in obtaining necessary identification and personal records o Providing employment support and referrals to vocational resources o Coordinating linkage to healthcare and supportive services, as needed o Supporting case managers in the delivery of case management services and resident care o Collaborate with referring organizations to coordinate resident’s care and ensure they receive the services and support they need to achieve and maintain health, mental health, and housing stability. · Participating in interviewing potential new hires. · Assist Director in ensuring new staff are trained and supporting current staff with their job duties and during crisis. · On-call for crisis. · Assist in ensuring that all shifts are covered by scheduling staff to open shifts and filling in when needed. · Actively participates in a quality improvement project. · Attending meetings as a backup when Director is out and/or as needed. · Oversees and supervises Resident Advisors. · Provide individual supervision and meet with Resident Advisors weekly. · Works to promote and support justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion at all levels in the organization. · Works to promote a trauma-informed work environment. · Actively participate in quality improvement project The Wallis House Supervisor will take on special projects or additional duties as assigned by the Director of Wallis House. Qualifications Competency Requirements Must be able to work independently. Basic computer skills including data entry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Effective problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task. A collaborative, positive, and mature approach. Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse preferred. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working with the homeless. Certifications/Licenses Valid CA driver’s license Valid automobile insurance Delegates Authority To Resident Advisors Additional Requirements Department of Justice/Fingerprint clearance Satisfactory completion of health screening Tuberculosis clearance Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States Physical Demands While performing the duties of a Wallis House Supervisor, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.   The employee is occasionally required to , reach, bend, push, pull, kneel or lift objects weighing more than 30 pounds.   The employee may be required to drive.
