    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p><p>The Engineering Manager is an experienced leader within the Engineering field that manages, plans, directs, evaluates and improves operations for a variety of commercial building projects and clients. &nbsp;This role is responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, managing complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, managing a design team, and contributing to the overall business. &nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Act as Engineer of Record for design projects</li><li>Serve as a recognized technical expert in engineering discipline</li><li>Serve as technical liaison on matters pertaining to design</li><li>Communicate with and manage clients</li><li>Serve as the people manager for the design team</li><li>Develop training schedule for design team</li><li>Provide consultation to management, designers and clients</li><li>Provide routine project and performance feedback to design team</li><li>Provide technical leadership in design reviews, modifications and recommends modifications</li><li>Enhance technical excellence in design team</li><li>Identify and recommend where improvements in knowledge of the discipline are needed or where technical training is needed</li><li>Establish a total quality management strategy to assure early involvement on design processes</li><li>Provide leadership to help focus and integrate new technology smoothly into design</li><li>Suggest areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches to address top problems within the organization or projects in focused technical area</li><li>Lead the quality control process on assigned projects</li><li>Coach and mentor team members</li><li>Identify and mitigate potential risks/issues throughout project life cycle</li><li>Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines as needed including &nbsp;Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection to ensure the project designs are effectively integrated for each project</li><li>Perform initial site investigations and observations of work done by the installing contractor(s) related to contracted projects</li><li>Develop and maintain positive client relationships</li><li>Attend construction site observations and construction administration</li><li>Maintain project details and progress in CRM</li><li>Project management and design duties as needed or QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license and designation</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering discipline</li><li>7+ years of relevant commercial building MEP systems design experience</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and ability to perform accurate load calculations</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of sustainable design practices</li><li>Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)</li><li>Proficient in the use of Revit and engineering modeling tools</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Previous project manager or senior designer experience</li><li>Certifications in Energy Management and CxA</li><li>10+ years of experience in engineering design in the MEP field</li><li>Advanced proficiency in the use of Revit and engineering modeling tools</li></ul></div>\n",
