    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING: OPEN UNTIL TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2026, AT 4:00PM</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>       RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER – ROAD TO RECOVERY (R2R) HOME (36-26)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours of Work: </span>35 hours per week</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Status: </span>Permanent</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Base office</span>: Parry Sound (Road to Recovery Home)</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Competition #: </span>36-26</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Purpose of the Position: </span>The Residential Support Worker is part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing in-home support to residents within a semi-independent congregate living environment.  Residential Support Workers facilitate recovery and improved quality of life in a professionally and culturally appropriate manner.  Residential Support Workers help residents address needs associated with mental illness, addictions, and life skills.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You Will Do:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support residents in achieving identified goals that align with their personal goals and values</li>\n<li>Teach and promote skill development and meaningful daily activities such as:\n<ul>\n<li>Menu planning, shopping, cooking</li>\n<li>Housekeeping, budgeting, etc.</li>\n<li>Planning and attending leisure, recreational, and community activities</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Facilitate monthly resident meetings</li>\n<li>Collaborate and work alongside R2R team</li>\n<li>Be an attentive listener using empathy, compassion and understanding of residents' needs</li>\n<li>Provide transportation as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education and Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Achieve a level of education and/or experience as follows:\n<ul>\n<li>A suitable level of education achieved through community college, university, or</li>\n<li>A secondary school diploma and at least six (6) months of relevant experience working with people diagnosed with mental health &amp;
