Join us at Easterseals NY- &nbsp;Valhalla for an exciting career as a Special Education Teacher.</strong></p><p style=\"text-align:center;\">&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>What You'll Do</strong></span></p><p>The Special Education Teacher works in our integrated preschool classroom and collaborates with the classroom staff to create a safe, warm and caring educational environment for our students. The Teacher will follow OCFS regulations, The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, schoolwide PBIS initiative, and collaborate with therapeutic staff, parents, education consultant, and administration.</p><p><span><strong>Your Responsibilities Will Include:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Design a classroom environment that is both motivating and stimulating for students.</li><li>Provide a daily, written lesson plan.</li><li>Maintain periodic progress scales for each pupil and attend case conferences on each student at appropriate intervals during the summer session.</li><li>Implement behavioral system, as approved by treatment team and IEP</li><li>Assure that accurate attendance records are maintained and are to be submitted appropriately prior to the completion of the summer session.</li><li>Submit progress reports to appropriate parties as requested.</li><li>Attend school-specific and Agency-related staff and/or parent meetings/trainings as required.</li><li>Assure that all students are supervised at all times by a responsible individual who is a paid employee of the agency.</li><li>Develop a working relationship with the assigned professionals, as well as the coordinator of therapeutic classroom activities.</li><li>Collaborate with the Treatment Team regarding treatment of the children and diagnostic information.</li><li>Participate in meetings and workshops that would serve as community orientation regarding Easterseals.</li></ul><p><span><strong>You're a great fit for this role if you have:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university.</li><li>Meet minimum requirements of the appropriate State Board of Education.</li><li>NYS Birth - Grade 2 certification / Students with disabilities.</li></ul><p><span style=\"color:black;\"><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span><strong>Compensation</strong></span><ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\"><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>$55,000-$60,000 (depending on credentials and experience</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>10-month position with the option to work for the summer session for increased compensation</span></li></ul></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span><strong>Benefits</strong></span><ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\"><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Health insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision)</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Paid time off (Vacation, Sick Floating)</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Retirement plan 403(b)</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Commuter Benefits</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Life/Accident insurance</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Long-term Disability Insurance</span></li><li style=\"color:black;tab-stops:list 1.0in;\"><span>Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)</span></li></ul></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p><p>Easterseals is a standard-bearer for creating equity and access for people with disabilities and other barriers to long term self-sufficiency.
