Better Health.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Objective</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Clinical Assistant Team Member (Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Medical Assistant) provides clinical and administrative support to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.  This position assists providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and promoting a positive patient experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a safety-sensitive role involving direct patient care, medication administration (within scope of licensure or certification), and clinical coordination in a fast-paced primary care environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Greet and prepare patients for provider examination by obtaining vital signs, history, and current medications; document all information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).</li>\n <li>Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring proper room setup and patient comfort.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate and complete patient records in the EMR.</li>\n <li>Administer medications, injections, or immunizations as ordered (within scope of practice).</li>\n <li>Perform diagnostic tests and procedures as directed (e.g., EKGs, pulse oximetry, spirometry, point-of-care testing, glucose checks).</li>\n <li>Draw blood and process lab specimens according to protocol.</li>\n <li>Support patient education and provide instruction on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.</li>\n <li>Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and equipment, including cleaning, sterilization, and inventory management.</li>\n <li>Manage patient phone calls, appointment scheduling, and proactive care coordination (e.g., medication reminders, follow-up calls, transitions of care).</li>\n <li>Participate in maintaining quality control logs, lab compliance, and medication inventory.</li>\n <li>Support front office and administrative functions as needed, including check-in/check-out, referrals, and prescription management.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with the care team to ensure efficient clinic flow and a positive patient experience.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements / Skills</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n <li>Current state licensure or certification as one of the following:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Registered Nurse (RN)</li>\n  <li>Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)</li>\n  <li>Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) from an accredited program.</li>\n </ul>\n <li>CPR/BLS certification required; IV start or phlebotomy certification preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a primary care, outpatient, or ambulatory setting.</li>\n <li>Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and universal precautions.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.</li>\n <li>Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and basic computer applications.</li>\n <li>Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity in patient interactions.</li>\n <li>Must be results-oriented, dependable, and capable of working independently or collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Full range of body motion, including assisting with patient transfers; manual dexterity and eye–hand coordination.</li>\n <li>Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and reaching (at arm’s length and overhead) for extended periods in a clinical setting.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift and move patients and medical equipment as needed; lift/carry up to 15 lbs.</li>\n <li>Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing.</li>\n <li>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, depending on assignment.</li>\n <li>Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to report to assigned clinic locations as scheduled.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Attributes/ Skills:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models the behaviors of core values and guiding principles.</li>\n <li>An effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments.</li>\n <li>Is able to work within the Better Health environment by facing tasks and challenges with energy and passion.</li>\n <li>Pursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
