Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.</em></p>\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>The Associate Medical Director will work closely with primary care providers, care management teams, and executive leadership to build and scale a comprehensive behavioral health program serving:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>· Homebound patients</p>\n<p>· Assisted living residents</p>\n<p>· Patients with dementia and cognitive impairment</p>\n<p>· Patients with complex psychiatric and medical comorbidities</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role is ideal for a physician who enjoys building programs, improving systems of care, and mentoring clinicians, while maintaining meaningful clinical engagement.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Clinical Leadership</p>\n<p>· Provide clinical leadership for behavioral health services across Intention Healthcare’s home-based and facility-based programs</p>\n<p>· Develop and implement evidence-based behavioral health care models integrated with primary care and long-term care</p>\n<p>· Establish clinical protocols and treatment pathways for psychiatric and behavioral conditions common in medically complex populations</p>\n<p>· Collaborate with medical leadership and facility partners to improve behavioral health outcomes</p>\n<p>· Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across behavioral health services</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Clinical Supervision</p>\n<p>· Provide clinical supervision and mentorship for Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioners and other behavioral health providers</p>\n<p>· Review complex cases and support treatment planning</p>\n<p>· Lead regular case review meetings and interdisciplinary discussions</p>\n<p>· Ensure providers are practicing according to evidence-based behavioral health standards</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Program Development</p>\n<p>  Design and scale a comprehensive behavioral health program supporting both home-based and facility-based patients</p>\n<p>  Develop care models addressing:</p>\n<p>  Depression and anxiety</p>\n<p>  Behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia</p>\n<p>  Serious mental illness</p>\n<p>  Substance use disorders</p>\n<p>  Caregiver stress and behavioral health needs</p>\n<p>  Support implementation of programs such as:</p>\n<p>  Collaborative Care Model (CoCM)</p>\n<p>  Behavioral health integration</p>\n<p>  Tele-behavioral health services</p>\n<p>  Work with operations and technology teams to develop scalable workflows and documentation processes</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Direct Patient Care</p>\n<p>· Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for patients through telehealth, in-home visits, and facility-based care</p>\n<p>· Manage complex psychiatric cases in collaboration with primary care providers and facility staff</p>\n<p>· Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as appropriate</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Collaboration</p>\n<p>  Work closely with:</p>\n<p>  Primary care providers</p>\n<p>  Behavioral health clinicians</p>\n<p>  Care management teams</p>\n<p>  Social workers</p>\n<p>  Family caregivers</p>\n<p>· Provide education and guidance to interdisciplinary teams on behavioral health topics</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>· MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry</p>\n<p>· Active medical license (or ability to obtain licensure in relevant states)</p>\n<p>· Experience treating adults with complex psychiatric and medical conditions</p>\n<p>· Experience supervising behavioral health clinicians (e.g., NPs, PAs, etc.)</p>\n<p>· Familiarity with documentation and billing requirements for behavioral health services, including psychiatric evaluation and management services, psychotherapy codes, and behavioral health integration models</p>\n<p>· Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations for behavioral health services in outpatient, home-based, and long-term care settings</p>\n<p>· Strong interest in integrated care models that combine behavioral health with primary care</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>· Experience in geriatric psychiatry or long-term care psychiatry</p>\n<p>· Experience with Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) or Behavioral Health Integration</p>\n<p>· Experience with home-based care or telehealth</p>\n<p>· Leadership or program development experience</p>\n<p>· Familiarity with value-based care models</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Salary may reflect bonuses and incentives</p>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>Essen Health care is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we seek candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.</p>",
