    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Pastoral Resident</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time:</span> Part-time position, 10-14 hours weekly (includes weekly, evening, and weekend hours), 1 year</p>\n<p>commitment (with additional 1 year renewal possible)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Primary work relationships: </span>Mentor Staff/Lead Pastor (Austin)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Function:</span> Pastoral Resident is on a path of personal growth built on growing skills, engaging in</p>\n<p>ministry conversations and having hands-on experience. This includes a combination of training,</p>\n<p>mentorship and practical opportunities to discover what God has gifted them with and how to apply it.</p>\n<p>Pastoral Residents will care for, encourage, and shape others in their faith. Residents are active in all</p>\n<p>aspects of church staff culture including meetings, planning, services and events.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Behind the Scenes</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend meetings: Weekly (All Staff on Monday afternoons, Staff Prayer on Wednesday mornings);</li>\n<li>Bi-Weekly (Resident Training, Mentorship)</li>\n<li>Planning and creating within various settings - vision sessions, church calendar, ministry areas and</li>\n</ul>\n<p>events, sermon series planning, etc.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn how areas of ministry operate across our church context</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ministry Life</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participation and execution of various duties within the weekend worship service</li>\n<li>Organizing and assisting with Beloved Communities</li>\n<li>Helping implement strategic opportunities for deeper discipleship at Beloved</li>\n<li>Implementing new guest pathway for consistent connections into the church body</li>\n<li>Discipline others in 1:1 situations</li>\n<li>Continued leadership in prayer/worship (Prayer Room, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Training</span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">&amp; Development</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SKILL</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working through Competency trainings to grow skills (Core Leadership, Spiritual Formation, Ministry</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Passion)</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete Wesleyan Licensing program</li>\n<li>Readings and study through various books and materials as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TOPICS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engaging in theological and ministry topics related to church life and pastoral focus</li>\n<li>Regular meetings and conversations with site mentor as well as ministry partners</li>\n<li>Exposure and networking with various ministry leaders within WEN and the GR area</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MINISTRY EXPERIENCE</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assigned to specific ministry area within Beloved within targeted passion areas.</li>\n<li>Direct oversight and execution of ministry to deepen growth and further practical application within</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Ministry</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Character</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that results in a life tuned to obedience to God as described</li>\n</ul>\n<p>in the Scriptures, evident by spiritual fruit and the desire to grow in the Lord</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is supportive and loyal to staff members and the church body of Beloved</li>\n<li>Displays genuine servanthood, faith-centeredness, and spiritual maturity</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Chemistry</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expresses flexibility, cooperation and teach-ability</li>\n<li>Exudes a fun outlook on life, easy-going and approachable</li>\n<li>Embraces the vision, direction and beliefs of The Beloved Church and has a heart for the Kingdom</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Competency</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to self-start projects and assignments, thinking ahead and planning accordingly</li>\n<li>Eager to learn and grow in a ministry environment</li>\n<li>Preferred education or equivalent experience in a leadership or ministry context</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>",
