With a wide variety of people, global locations, technologies, and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.</p><p></p><p><b>This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.</b></p><p></p><p><b><span>The Impact You’ll Make in this Role</span></b></p><p><span>As the IT Finance Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to support the development of the IT Business Management framework, aligning IT Financials to IT delivery and business objectives. </span>This role bridges technology and finance, helping stakeholders understand the financial implications of IT strategies, investments, and operations.  The ideal candidate has a strong background in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&amp;A) with a working understanding of IT cost structure and project-based accounting.</p><p>In this role, you will:</p><ul><li><span>Work with the IT Business Management Leader to develop and maintain budgets, forecasts and long -range financial plans</span></li><li><span>Monitor and analyze IT operating and capital expenditures, including variance analysis for hardware, software, personnel, 3rd party labor and other specific expenditures to align with business needs and budgetary constraints</span></li><li><span>Support cost allocation models across departments for IT services</span></li><li><span>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for IT Business Management leader, IT leadership, and Corporate Finance.</span></li><li><span>Assist with vendor invoice processing, contract analysis, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies</span></li><li><span>Support business case development for new IT initiatives or investments</span></li><li><span>Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support IT strategy decisions</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Your Skills and Expertise  </b></p><p>To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.</li><li>Five (5) years of experience in finance or accounting <span>in a private, public, government or military environment </span></li><li>Proficiency in financial management tools such as Excel, SAP, or Oracle Financials.</li></ul><p></p><p>Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:</p><ul><li>Five (5) years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in IT finance or within a technology environment</li><li>Good understanding of financial management concepts (e.g CapEx vs Opex)</li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Proven ability to develop and exercise project plans with minimal supervision</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Work location: </span></b></p><ul><li><b>Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN or Austin, TX.</b></li></ul><p><b>Travel: May include up to 5</b><b>% <span>domestic/international</span></b></p><p><b><span>Relocation Assistance: Is not authorized</span></b></p><p></p><p><b><span>Must be legally authorized to work in a country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).</span></b></p><p></p><p><span><b><span>Supporting Your Well-being </span></b></span></p><p><span><span>3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
