Call us family!</p>\n<h2>About this Role</h2>\n<p>Step two will introduce the Apprentice to energized secondary work, de-energized primary framing, and bucket truck operation. Step two Apprentice may perform energized secondary work (up to 480 Volts) while being directly supervised by a Lineman or Foreman. The person supervising must be at the same physical location as the Apprentice (on the pole with or in the bucket with/adjacent to). Step two Apprentice may not be within reach or extended reach of the minimum approach distance of any energized primary conductor or equipment while working aloft.</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<p>The following is a list of the kind of tasks the step two Apprentice should be engaged in and learning while on the job in addition to those tasks listed from the previous step.  </p>\n<li>Proper use of aerial lifts, (Bucket truck).<li>Basic aerial lift\n  <ul>\n   <li>Material handlers</li>\n  </ul></li><li>Secondary connections\n  <ul>\n   <li>Phasing or paralleling secondary circuits.</li>\n   <li>Taking voltage, amperage, or resistance readings on secondary circuits.</li>\n   <li>Tying/attaching conductors to insulators on de-energized circuits.</li>\n   <li>Sagging secondaries and services.</li>\n   <li>Dead-ending and clipping services and secondary conductors.</li>\n   <li>Assisting lineman with de-energized transformer connections.</li>\n   <li>Work from pole or bucket.</li>\n   <li>Test de-energized primary lines, tag, and apply protective grounds.</li>\n   <li>De-energized primary framing and hardware installation.</li>\n   <li>Hanging crossarms from the pole de-energize circuits.</li>\n   <li>Drilling and fastening with impact (hydraulic) tools.</li>\n   <li>Using hand powered crimping tools.</li>\n  </ul></li></li>\n<p>Courses commonly assigned to step two Apprentices from the T&D Power Skills training website are as follows.<strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Rigging 2</li>\n <li>Electrical Safety</li>\n <li>Hydraulic Derricks</li>\n <li>Bucket Trucks</li>\n <li>Material Handling Bucket Trucks</li>\n <li>System Protection and Monitoring</li>\n <li>Introduction to Metering</li>\n <li>Bucket Truck Rescue</li>\n <li>Safety in Meter Work</li>\n <li>Safety in Substations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical </li>\n <li>Dental </li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>401K</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
