Come join Arcwood and be part of our legacy of environmental leadership!</p>\n<h2>Essential Functions & Responsibilities </h2>\n<p><strong>Field Chemist </strong><strong></strong>As a Field Chemist you will be responsible for sorting and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste, always ensuring compatibility and safety in all processes for each service provided to customers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Location/Schedule:</strong> The position would report to the Field Office and then be dispatched out to projects in the region during the day. Report back to the office at the end of the day. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times</li>\n <li>Assists in the segregation of chemicals by hazard class and packs compatible materials in appropriate containers and prepares for transportation; completes necessary paperwork for each job </li>\n <li>Determines and loads supplies needed for job completion and travels to various industry, laboratory, and educational sites to perform lab pack services</li>\n <li>Assists in characterizing materials at field project sites </li>\n <li>Adheres to proper placarding and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials </li>\n <li>Develops good customer relations by effectively communicating with site points of contact and others at customer location / site </li>\n <li>Appropriately directs Field Technicians / Drivers who are assisting with waste collection </li>\n <li>Maintains an introductory knowledge of high-hazard materials management / assessment and cylinder handling </li>\n <li>Maintains the ability to travel to support outside locations as needed</li>\n <li>Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education </h2>- Associates degree (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred)\n<h2>Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>In lieu of degree 2+ years of related experience (required), previous experience in lab packing or environmental waste (preferred) </li>\n <li>Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date (required) </li>\n <li>Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record search to Company standards (required)</li>\n <li><strong>*Due to the potential exposure to atmospheres/waste/materials this position requires individuals to be clean shaven at all times in order to don a respirator for protection</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits, Compensation & Workforce Diversity</h2>Arcwood offers stability you can count on and opportunities to grow.
