The Social Worker, BSW is responsible for the provision of community-based mental health counseling services to clients within the Child and Youth Mental Health Programs. The position is also accountable for the provision of public education, mental health promotion, consultations and advocacy aimed at supporting individuals wishing to improve their quality of health. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 1 year recognized postgraduate experience in community MHAS Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies Analytical skills Organizational skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge in individual, family, group, and crisis counselling methods Ability to be innovative in service development, delivery, and problem solving Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions Knowledge in time management Ability to complete case management assessments, follow-up and treatment Ability to respond under pressure.
