This diverse range of structural engineering services helps improve mobility for the traveling public.  Among its recent recognitions, VHB won 2025 Best Managed Company recognizing its impactful development and innovation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>VHB is growing its Southeastern region and is in search of a Senior Structural Engineer. Joining our team means becoming a part of an already successful and award-winning firm whose dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking environment lead the industry with cutting-edge model-based bridge design of transportation related projects in Florida, Georgia, and throughout our footprint along the east coast of the US.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In this position, primarily, you would serve in a lead technical role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects - from highway to pedestrian to rail - as well as mentor our structural team. You would also serve as a Project Manager and be expected to assist with project pursuits. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Learn more about our Bridge and Structures Engineering practice and on-going work in Alternative Delivery at VHB:<strong> </strong>Bridges & Structures | VHB</p>\n<p>Alternative Delivery | VHB</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects</li>\n <li>Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation packages</li>\n <li>Provide technical support/mentorship to structural engineering staff</li>\n <li>Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.</li>\n <li>Assist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling</li>\n <li>Provide project management</li>\n <li>Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality</li>\n <li>Must possess strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking</li>\n <li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li>\n <li>Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment</li>\n <li>Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing is essential</li>\n <li>Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff</li>\n <li>Model-based design experience</li>\n <li>Project management skills </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 8-11 years of structural bridge/transportation design experience required.</li>\n <li>B.S. in Civil Engineering required; master’s degree preferred</li>\n <li>PE license required or ability to attain within 6 months.</li>\n <li>Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO, GDOT, local municipalities/counties, and other state DOTs</li>\n <li>Strong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software(i.e. Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, GDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.)</li>\n <li>Model-based design experience is a strong plus:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Bentley OpenBridge and OpenRoads</li>\n  <li>AutoCADD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
