We work closely with our clients to analyze their systems, identify issues and develop the most innovative and cost-effective solutions.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p>\n<p>Michael Baker is actively seeking water and wastewater engineers and associates for our Virginia Beach office.&nbsp;We provide a flexible work environment with a balanced mix of office, home and field work.&nbsp;You’ll be a part of our team of talented engineers working on a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects that include planning, design, engineering and construction support.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Planning studies, analyses and preliminary engineering efforts.&nbsp;Develop engineering reports and technical memoranda. Perform hydraulic modeling.</li>\n <li>Prepare design calculations, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Research products and materials and conduct technical evaluations.</li>\n <li>Preparation of quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, etc.</li>\n <li>Participate in field visits and investigations.</li>\n <li>Participate in client meetings, meeting preparation and presentations.</li>\n <li>Support construction efforts by reviewing shop drawings for conformance to contract documents.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Partner with management and supervision of contractors and subconsultants during all project phases.</li>\n <li>Assist with technical proposals during the pursuit of key projects.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (cost estimators, GIS, designers, surveyors, and other engineers).</li>\n <li>Work with senior Project Engineers and Managers who will guide you in the&nbsp;development of project documents.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Succeed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Possess a bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or related engineering field.</li>\n <li>6+ years of increasingly responsible, professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities such as water distribution/transmission and gravity sewer pipelines, force mains, and pump stations.</li>\n <li>Self-starter interested in working on a variety of projects supporting the Water Group.</li>\n <li>Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation.</li>\n <li>Possess a Virginia P.E. license (and/or able to obtain VA P.E. license immediately).</li>\n <li>Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint are required.</li>\n <li>Knowledge using AutoCAD, MicroStation and GIS is highly desired.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p>\n<p>The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 annually.
