Description The Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking an Associate Director for the Abdominal Transplant Programs. The Associate Director must demonstrate exemplary leadership, educational, management and interpersonal skills, with the desire and commitment to service excellence. The individual should possess a strong sense of identity, self-esteem, and pride in professionalism. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a leading academic medical center with distinguished experts in the CTC. Our teams have earned national and international recognition for their expertise in treating the most rare and complex cases in transplantation, performing 677 solid organ transplants in 2025. Responsibilities Job Summary The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the daily planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the daily operations, research and clinical practice in the Abdominal Transplant programs.      The Associate Director functions as a leader and an expert professional practitioner. He/She assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care.  The Associate Director works with CTC leadership to ensure optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality, collaborates with the Quality team to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, regulatory agency standards, and licensure requirements. Key Roles and Responsibilities Leadership Oversees programmatic lead staff to maintain excellence in clinical care for transplant patients Responsible for crafting CTC communications and reports Serves as an example for staff commitment by promoting employee engagement Promotes the maximum growth and development of each employee Anticipates adequate staffing needs and collaborates with other departments in cross functional process improvement Maintains constructive collegial relations with service line, division, and clinical/support medical staff Clinical Helps to ensure patient safety in the CTC clinical space and participates in patient experience initiatives Works directly with Programmatic Managers, Assistant Managers and Leads (i.e. Kidney Lead Transplant Coordinators, Liver/Hepatology Lead NPs etc.) to maintain best practices for patient care and management throughout the transplant and disease management division Administrative Daily operational management of Abdominal Transplant programs Responsible for all administrative processes applicable to assigned unit(s) Serves as liaison with medical staff and other personnel Directs and supervises the annual performance of staff  Collaborates with the Associate Director of CTC Finance for budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, revenue enhancement, and cost-saving initiative  Performs HR related functions Supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term and assures patient advocacy The Associate Director ensures the staff perform within their scope of responsibility and duties, and ensures accountability at the facility, department, and position levels, including knowledge of required clinical/technical skills consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, Joint Commission, The Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements.  Additional management responsibilities include compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals, supporting quality improvements and the clinical care delivery processes; staffing, scheduling, and retention of staff; safety and quality management, and participation on Unit Practice Council and TCAB.  He/she maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.  He/she can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment.  The Associate Director guides staff in meeting customer’s needs and being consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan and The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, The Performance Improvement Plan and Professional Organization Standards. Qualifications Educational Requirements California RN license, Bachelors of Science or Administration required, MSN degree strongly preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements Current BLS; Certification in the field of specialty is preferred Experience Minimum five (5) years’ of management experience  5 years of acute care setting preferred Extensive transplant experience Proven ability to lead and manage people include selecting, developing, motivating and retaining people to meet unit objectives. Fiscal management skills to prepare, monitor and control budgets, reduce expenses and generate increased revenues. Ability to promote effective collaboration and teamwork among individuals of multiple disciplines and across organizational boundaries. Knowledge of regulatory, reimbursement, legal and policy issues as they relate to effective unit management. Knowledge of the principles of CQI and ability to apply these principles including PDSA to improve unit work. Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area. Demonstrates commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues. Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Demonstrated success working independently, forging relationships, and managing multiple tasks with minimal directions. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support. Physical Demands The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions. Must be able to perform assigned duties in a fast-paced work environment Ability to move throughout all areas of the immediate and adjacent Medical Center and Health System campus Ability to sit and perform data entry for long periods of time.     "ExternalResponsibilitiesStr": "<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><ul><li>The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the daily planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the daily operations, research and clinical practice in the Abdominal Transplant programs.     </li><li>The Associate Director functions as a leader and an expert professional practitioner. He/She assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. </li><li>The Associate Director works with CTC leadership to ensure optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality, collaborates with the Quality team to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, regulatory agency standards, and licensure requirements. </li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Key Roles and Responsibilities</strong></p><p> </p><p>Leadership</p><ul><li>Oversees programmatic lead staff to maintain excellence in clinical care for transplant patients</li><li>Responsible for crafting CTC communications and reports</li><li>Serves as an example for staff commitment by promoting employee engagement</li><li>Promotes the maximum growth and development of each employee</li><li>Anticipates adequate staffing needs and collaborates with other departments in cross functional process improvement</li><li>Maintains constructive collegial relations with service line, division, and clinical/support medical staff</li></ul><p> </p><p>Clinical</p><ul><li>Helps to ensure patient safety in the CTC clinical space and participates in patient experience initiatives</li><li>Works directly with Programmatic Managers, Assistant Managers and Leads (i.e. Kidney Lead Transplant Coordinators, Liver/Hepatology Lead NPs etc.) to maintain best practices for patient care and management throughout the transplant and disease management division</li></ul><p> </p><p>Administrative</p><ul><li>Daily operational management of Abdominal Transplant programs</li><li>Responsible for all administrative processes applicable to assigned unit(s)</li><li>Serves as liaison with medical staff and other personnel</li><li>Directs and supervises the annual performance of staff </li><li>Collaborates with the Associate Director of CTC Finance for budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, revenue enhancement, and cost-saving initiative </li><li>Performs HR related functions</li><li>Supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term and assures patient advocacy</li></ul><p> </p><p>The Associate Director ensures the staff perform within their scope of responsibility and duties, and ensures accountability at the facility, department, and position levels, including knowledge of required clinical/technical skills consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, Joint Commission, The Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements.  Additional management responsibilities include compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals, supporting quality improvements and the clinical care delivery processes; staffing, scheduling, and retention of staff; safety and quality management, and participation on Unit Practice Council and TCAB.  He/she maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.  He/she can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment.  The Associate Director guides staff in meeting customer’s needs and being consistent with the Medical Center's philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan and The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, The Performance Improvement Plan and Professional Organization Standards.     </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>",
