    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><strong>About The Role</strong></p><p>The Genetics Lab Specialist I supports daily operations in the genetics laboratory by performing</p><p>molecular laboratory procedures related to preimplantation genetic testing by next-generation</p><p>sequencing. This position is responsible for accurate sample handling, preparation,</p><p>documentation, and testing support in accordance with established laboratory procedures and</p><p>quality standards.The Genetics Lab Specialist I works under the guidance of senior laboratory staff and</p><p>management to ensure clinical samples are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance</p><p>with laboratory policies.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>● Perform assigned aspects of preimplantation genetic testing by next-generation</p><p>sequencing, including DNA amplification, library preparation, sequencing setup, and</p><p>reporting support.</p><p>● Perform molecular-based laboratory procedures on clinical samples in accordance with</p><p>approved standard operating procedures.</p><p>● Accession clinical samples, including sample reception, verification, labeling,</p><p>documentation, and logging.</p><p>● Ensure proper sample identification, tracking, handling, and storage throughout the</p><p>testing process.</p><p>● Prepare reagents, consumables, and materials needed for laboratory workflows.</p><p>● Assist with operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and</p><p>equipment.</p><p>● Accurately document laboratory activities, test steps, reagent use, sample status, and any</p><p>deviations from standard procedures.</p><p>● Assist with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Quality Inventory activities,</p><p>including QC checks, inventory tracking, reagent monitoring, and documentation review.</p><p>● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.</p><p>● Follow all laboratory safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, and applicable compliance</p><p>standards.</p><p>● Communicate sample issues, testing concerns, or workflow delays to senior staff or</p><p>laboratory management.</p><p>● Participate in training and competency activities as required.</p><p>● Perform additional duties or assignments as directed by management.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p><p>● Bachelor&rsquo;s (or Master&rsquo;s) degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry,</p><p>Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field preferred.</p><p>● Previous experience in a clinical, molecular, genetics, IVF, or reproductive genetics</p><p>laboratory preferred but not required.</p><p>● Experience with molecular biology techniques such as pipetting, PCR, DNA</p><p>amplification, or sequencing preparation is preferred.</p><p>● Must know how to pipette small amounts by viscosity.</p><p>● Familiarity with next-generation sequencing workflows.</p><p>● Familiarity with laboratory documentation, sample accessioning, and quality control</p><p>practices is preferred.</p><p>● Strong attention to detail and accuracy.</p><p>● Ability to follow written procedures, protocols, and laboratory instructions.</p><p>● Good organizational and time-management skills.</p><p>● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</p><p>● Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions when clarification is</p><p>needed.</p><p>● Ability to handle confidential patient and clinical information appropriately.</p><p>● Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</p><p>● Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.</p><p>Physical and Work Environment Requirements</p><p>● Ability to work in a clinical laboratory environment with biological specimens, reagents,</p><p>and laboratory equipment.</p><p>● Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.</p><p>● Ability to perform repetitive pipetting and other fine-motor laboratory tasks.</p><p>● Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.</p><p>● May require occasional weekend, holiday, or adjusted schedule coverage based on</p><p>laboratory needs.</p></div>\n",
