The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a <strong>Senior Traffic Engineer</strong> to organize and direct our multimodal traffic engineering program. In this role, you&rsquo;ll be at the forefront of making our transportation systems efficient, safe, and forward-looking &mdash; from managing congestion and bottlenecks to driving our long-term goal of <strong>zero fatal and serious injury crashes by 2040</strong>.</p><p><strong>What You&rsquo;ll Do:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the City&rsquo;s multimodal traffic engineering program, including safety and operational analyses.</li><li>Manage roadway safety studies, intersection improvements, and traffic calming initiatives.</li><li>Review and approve traffic engineering studies, control devices, temporary traffic control plans, and special permits.</li><li>Develop and implement solutions to reduce congestion and enhance safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.</li><li>Collaborate with City leadership, departments, and the community to ensure responsive, data-driven transportation solutions.</li><li>Lead updates to traffic policies, standards, and enforcement tools to keep Sandy Springs moving safely.</li></ul><p><strong>What We&rsquo;re Looking For:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in transportation/traffic (Master&rsquo;s preferred).</li><li>Seven (7) years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering (Master&rsquo;s degree may substitute for two years).</li><li>Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE and RSP certifications preferred.</li><li>Strong background in traffic software (Synchro, VISSIM, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.) and project management.</li><li>Proven ability to lead programs, manage projects, and communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.</li><li>Commitment to innovative, data-driven solutions and to staying current with industry best practices.</li></ul><p><strong>Perks &amp; Benefits:</strong><br>&bull; Two competitive medical plan options for you and your family, along with dental and vision coverage<br>&bull; 10 paid holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday<br>&bull; Accrued paid vacation and sick leave<br>&bull; City-paid life and AD&amp;D insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability<br>&bull; A City-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP)<br>&bull; A robust retirement savings program: the City contributes 12% of your base salary to a 401(a) plan and matches up to 5% of your contributions to a 457(b) plan<br>&bull; Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 per year after one year of service toward a relevant degree<br>&bull; Access to an on-site gym</p><p><strong>About Sandy Springs:</strong><br>Sandy Springs is Georgia&rsquo;s sixth-largest city, with nearly 110,000 residents and a thriving business community.
