In your role, you'll be instrumental in making a real impact in the communities we serve, embodying our purpose every day.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p>Responsible for the Loss Prevention activities related to the detection, apprehension and processing of shoplifters. Diligently set an example of what it means to be an employee owner who makes excellent business minded decisions aimed at controlling loss and helping the company protect profits. Assist store management in maintaining a safe environment for our customers, vendors, and employees. Provide presence and professionalism aimed at de-escalating situations that arise within the store. Assist internal Loss Prevention staff conducting various investigations. Perform related work.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Typical Duties and Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates professionalism and excellent judgement in a fast paced retail environment.</li>\n <li>Detects, apprehends and processes shoplifters in accordance with company policies and local laws/regulations.</li>\n <li>Contributes to the safe resolution of concerning situations within the store using verbal de-escalation techniques paired with professional presence.</li>\n <li>Prepares and submits reports involving investigations and Loss Prevention (LP) matters</li>\n <li>Researches and archives general liability incidents via C.C.T.V.</li>\n <li>Participates in internal company investigations.</li>\n <li>Testifies at legal and court proceedings on behalf of the company.</li>\n <li>Works with local, state and government agencies regarding company matters.</li>\n <li>Participates in maintenance of loss prevention and safety programs.</li>\n <li>Conducts loss prevention audits.</li>\n <li>Detects, investigates and reports hazardous workplace incidents and issues.</li>\n <li>Provides store support by promoting loss prevention and safety awareness.</li>\n <li>Provides LP training to store staff.</li>\n <li>Maintains loss prevention office and equipment to established standards.</li>\n <li>Identifies and troubleshoots and reports issues with C.C.T.V. equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<p>Education:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Recognizing the required criteria to determine what constitutes shoplifting.</li>\n <li>Demonstrating good excellent judgment when responding to difficult situations or individuals.</li>\n <li>Providing excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills in a work setting.</li>\n <li>Documenting work and customer service activities.</li>\n <li>Applying strong analytical and problem solving abilities.</li>\n <li>Prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrating initiative and self-direction.</li>\n <li>Working effectively in a team oriented environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Ability to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work 10-12 hour shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays.</li>\n <li>Consistently provide friendly and engaging customer service to internal and external customers.</li>\n <li>Perform at a high level in a fast paced environment with limited immediate supervision.</li>\n <li>Develop proficiency with WinCo’s C.C.T.V. equipment, locks and door hardware.</li>\n <li>Sit for extended periods.</li>\n <li>Perform all tasks efficiently and accurately with confidentiality, honesty and integrity.</li>\n <li>Obtain State or Local certifications as required.</li>\n <li>Wear provided personal protective equipment such as gloves and protective vest.</li>\n <li>Travel daily within a defined geographic area to assigned locations.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned or needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Additional Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years old</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Machines and Equipment Operated:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office machines (computer terminal, copier/ scanner, 10-key, fax machine, telephone etc.).</li>\n <li>C.C.T.V., DVR and digital camera equipment.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
