Join our growing team supporting customer missions as a <strong>Systems Engineer</strong> in <strong>Herndon</strong><strong>, Virginia</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform systems engineering and software development in multiple large enterprise server environments (e.g., Linux, Red Hat, and Rocky OS)</li>\n <li>Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate Linux system administrative tasks</li>\n <li>Ensure Linux systems are configured to meet security and compliance requirements</li>\n <li>Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.</li>\n <li>Prepare required documentation (program-level and user-level)</li>\n <li>Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.</li>\n <li>Support the customer in the development and maintenance of systems baseline.</li>\n <li>Assess server loads and work with technical leads to develop tuning recommendations.</li>\n <li>Additional duties, as assigned.</li>\n <li>Provide operational pager/phone duty support.</li>\n <li>Complete day-to-day Operations & Maintenance tasks</li>\n <li>Perform operating system software updates, upgrades and patches.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:   </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer with a background utilizing the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Linux experience, including Red Hat and its derivatives (RHEL, RockyOS).</li>\n <li>Experience in shell (BASH) scripting and manipulating the Linux command line.</li>\n <li>Experience providing Linux Administration (O&M) support</li>\n <li>Experience providing Linux Engineering and Infrastructure support</li>\n <li>Experience with configuration management software (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with the following languages: Python and Bash</li>\n <li>Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), CloudFormation, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure</li>\n <li>Experience with cloud computing, including PaaS, IaaS and SaaS</li>\n <li>Experience with CaaS (e.g., Kubernetes and OpenShift) </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What you can expect from us</h2>\n<p><em>BCore is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
