    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Project Engineer, or project manager-in-training, is responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in all aspects of the day-to-day management of a construction project. This position will participate in all activities required to source, pursue and build a project including cost estimation, contract administration, schedule management and risk-quality management. Our passion is building.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify and pursue new business development opportunities including maintaining positive client relationships to leverage future repeat business</li>\n <li>Prepare full cost estimates including quantity take-offs and pricing</li>\n <li>Participate in bid solicitation, bid package preparation and analysis</li>\n <li>Assist in preparation of general contract and subcontract administration</li>\n <li>Prepare permit applications</li>\n <li>Maintain updated construction documents including as-builts</li>\n <li>Manage and process shop drawings and submittals</li>\n <li>Coordinate material and equipment procurement and expediting</li>\n <li>Facilitate the RFI process</li>\n <li>Document project coordination meetings for distribution</li>\n <li>Monitor project schedules to ensure adherence to key dates</li>\n <li>Initiate, review and negotiate change orders</li>\n <li>Oversee entire close-out process including creation and completion of punch list</li>\n <li>Other duties and responsibilities as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. civil, architectural, or construction), construction management or related field</li>\n <li>0-2 years' experience in the construction industry</li>\n <li>Ability to travel/temporarily relocate for job assignments</li>\n <li>Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and solve complex challenges in order to present alternative solutions</li>\n <li>Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal</li>\n <li>Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office</li>\n <li>Key success factors include passion for the industry, self-motivated, strong work ethic, time management, organized, detail-oriented and creative</li>\n <li>Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p>\n<p>• The Project Engineer’s work is primarily performed indoors out of a main office or field office at the construction site; occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions with some exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level may range from moderate to loud.</p>\n<p>• Light physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and some standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearing.</p>\n<p>• Construction site will change or vary and/or position may require travel.</p>\n<p>• Environment will be demanding and fast paced; number of hours typically worked in a workweek may exceed 40 hours per week and often “on call” 24 hours a day.</p>\n<p>• Position requires frequent, high-level of autonomy as it relates to decision-making that impacts company results.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Brinkmann Constructors, our passion for people means investing in their financial, mental, and physical well-being.
