They play a vital role in maintaining furnace efficiency and product integrity. Additionally, they operate various equipment, such as expanders and welders, accurately install and tack weld sizing rings, and use hydraulic jacks for sizing. The operator reads job prints, determines fittings OD and ID, and recognizes flaws, implementing corrective action. This role also involves coordinating activities, maintaining a safe workspace, and assisting other departments as needed.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Install sizing rings for large fittings.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Dimensional sizing for heat treatment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Start-up and shutdown of furnaces.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Oven controller and chart recorder operation.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Furnace checks and adjustments during heat treat.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reporting on furnace and heat treat system problems.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Interpretation of time, temperature, and cooling methods.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Loading, unloading, supporting, and distributing products in furnaces.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Documentation on heat treat chart, sample log, and paperwork.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High school diploma, GED, or equivalent</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">English language proficiency (speak, read, write)</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Spanish language proficiency (a plus)</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Education and/or Experience</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">1 year of training or experience (substituting for diploma/GED)</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
