Qualifications Education & Experience Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). RA- A & C: Demonstrated competency in compounding and administering a therapeutic diet by enteral instillation required (formerly known as Restricted Activity A and C). Although separate restricted activity declarations are no longer required under HPOA, these competencies remain essential and ongoing to this role. Applicants requiring competency development are strongly encouraged to disclose this information for appropriate support and mentorship upon hire. Two (2) years’ recent, related clinical experience in a medical/surgical care setting Valid BC drivers license. Travel requires use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed. Unless specified in the posting. Knowledge & Abilities Broad knowledge of clinical dietetic theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care. Broad knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners established by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). Broad knowledge of enteral nutrition. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement nutrition care plans in relation to client/family priorities. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with conflict situations. Demonstrated ability to adjust to new or unexpected events. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and to think critically. Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care. Broad knowledge of research process and methodology. Ability to interpret, explain and apply the applicable legislation in a variety of situations. Ability to enforce regulatory provisions. Ability to secure facts through investigation and inspection while adhering to the principals of administrative law and natural justice. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively with others; including the ability to work in a team and client-focused environment. Working knowledge of the potential nutritional needs of adults, youths, and children attending licensed care facilities such as therapeutic and texture modified diets and ability to evaluate clinical nutrition practice. Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safety care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software. Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
