Reporting to the Manager, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will be responsible for overseeing all underground mining activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role involves managing daily production, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will play a critical role in achieving the mine's production targets and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will have the authority to set objectives and guidelines, establish budgets and schedules, delegate tasks among staff, and develop strategies to optimize operations and meet project requirements. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Responsible for safety, production, quality and budgets for their area of mine operations; Lead and manage the underground mining team, including Shift Supervisors, operators, and support staff; Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to develop team capabilities; Promote a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations; Actively promote, monitor and enforce compliance of personnel with safe work practices; Oversee daily underground operations to meet production targets, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities; Ensure efficient use of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials; Monitor and adjust mine plans in coordination with technical services to optimize production and minimize costs; Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with safety, health, and environmental regulations; Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate risks; Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence; Collaborate with the Technical Services, Maintenance, and Processing teams to align production goals with overall mine plans; Manage inventory of mining supplies, explosives, and equipment to support uninterrupted operations; Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and cost efficiency; Analyze production data and key performance indicators to track progress and drive performance; Track and report on key metrics such as production volumes, development meters, and equipment utilization; Maintain and develop technical management skills and knowledge; In collaboration with the Maintenance Superintendent, organize overall maintenance of mine equipment in a cost-effective manner; Be visible in the workplace.
