    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>To promote the Mission of The Salvation Army through assisting in the planning and facilitation of summer programs for local children, assist in mobilizing efforts with a mind towards evangelism/service, visitation of nursing home residents, assist with VBS, assist with Summer JAM (Junior Arts and Music) and with some summer social services programs at The Salvation Army Canton Citadel.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist the Wellness Coordinator and Corps Officers with the planning, preparation and implementation of summer youth programs (sports programs, music/arts programs, VBS, etc.); including activity schedules for each program and adherence to program guidelines.</li>\n <li>Provide a positive and safe experience for children.</li>\n <li>Participate in the preparation for, and implementation of, summer mobilizing efforts with a mind toward evangelism.</li>\n <li>Participate in Nursing Home Visitation.</li>\n <li>Assist with packaging of Soup Kitchen and Canton Towers meals.</li>\n <li>Complete and file reports for programs, activities, disciplinary or accident issues in a timely, neat and orderly manner.</li>\n <li>Keep records/statistics as requested from Coordinator.</li>\n <li>Assist with set up and clean up of program areas (meals, drinks and/or snacks).</li>\n <li>Assist the youth with getting their meals/drinks/snacks and participate in these with the youth.</li>\n <li>Provide list of needed supplies to Coordinator on a weekly basis.</li>\n <li>Assist with cleaning and inventories.</li>\n <li>Supervise volunteers as requested.</li>\n <li>As needed, drive the 12 passenger van or Subaru for pickups and take homes.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned by Wellness Coordinator or Corps Officers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>     </strong><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Youth Participants</li>\n <li>Volunteers</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma required.</li>\n <li>Must pass TSA background check and KeepSAfe Training.</li>\n <li>Must pass criminal records screening.</li>\n <li>Must be 18.
