Duties should be action oriented and avoid vague or general statements.  </p>\n<p><strong>% of Time</strong></p>\n<p>(annually)</p>\n<p><strong>Clinical Excellence/Patient Care</strong></p>\n<p>·        Assesses the needs of patients and families undergoing invasive cardiac procedures, providing appropriate teaching, and making the necessary referrals to provide continuity of care.</p>\n<p>·        Assists the physician with the development of an individual plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and health care team.</p>\n<p>·        Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.</p>\n<p>·        Utilizes holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients and families served in the assigned service area.</p>\n<p>·        Utilizes critical thinking in making judgments and maintains responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of the patient.</p>\n<p>·        Complete competency evaluations for supply, monitoring, and scrub roles as appropriate. </p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in the manual skills and techniques required in the administration of emergency medications used in the Cardiovascular Procedural Lab including under the direct supervision of the physician, if appropriate based upon role and training.</p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in the manual skills and techniques required to operate specialized equipment in the Cardiovascular Procedural Labs</p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in maintaining a clean environment and sterile procedure field.</p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of radiation safety and practice including, but not limited to the following:</p>\n<p>o   Knowledge of advanced imaging systems used in the Cath Lab setting</p>\n<p>·        Use of radiation protection devices and exposure levels for both the team member and patients.</p>\n<p>50%</p>\n<p><strong>Development & Patient Education</strong></p>\n<p>·        Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance cardiovascular procedural practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.</p>\n<p>·        Assess and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patient’s and their families’ age specific needs, culture, gender, readiness to learn and level of comprehension.</p>\n<p>·        Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.</p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.</p>\n<p>40%</p>\n<p><strong>Basic UPH Performance Criteria         </strong></p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.</p>\n<p>·        Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.</p>\n<p>·        Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.</p>\n<p>·        Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, JCAHO, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.</p>\n<p>·        Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.</p>\n<p>·        Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.</p>\n<p>10%</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p>\n<p>Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.</p>\n<p><strong>Preferred or Specialized</strong></p>\n<p>Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.</p>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Diploma or certificate of completion:</p>\n<p>·        Cardiovascular Technology</p>\n<p>·        Radiology Technology</p>\n<p>·        Paramedic </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Two (2) year cardiovascular procedure experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Two (2) year conscious sedation experience depending upon role</p>\n<p>Complex cardiovascular procedure experience which could include, electrophysiology (EP), peripheral vascular and/or structural heart procedures.</p>\n<p><strong>License(s)/Certification(s):</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Have and maintain current licensure/certification in good standing to practice with one of the following:</p>\n<p>-        Radiology Technologist R.T.(R)</p>\n<p>-        Paramedic</p>\n<p>Dual licensure or certification may be required for certain markets for this position based upon states of practice.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>New hires who are not dual licensing/certification will have 90 days from date of hire to obtain and submit proof of dual licensure. (Proof of application for dual licensure is acceptable within the 90-day window if licensure processing has not been completed at the state level). </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Dependent upon role, if administering procedural sedation, must have previous experience and take a Conscious sedation class (UnityPoint procedural sedation class) and pass a competency test with 84% accuracy as required by the affiliates policy. This competency test needs to be done every two years to verify competency. Market level policy must be followed for Propofol administration.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Must have Cardiac Basic Rhythm interpretation skills and be able to pass a competency.</p>\n<p>-        Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>-        Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>-        Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) through ARRT.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English</p>\n<p>Multicultural sensitivity</p>\n<p>Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.</p>\n<p>Customer/patient focused</p>\n<p>Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. </p>\n<p>-        Epic Cupid Documentation</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>-        Hemodynamic Monitoring Documentation</p>\n<p><strong>Other:</strong></p>\n<p>Must meet market specific on-call requirements including but not limited to response time and arrival time, after-hour responses, weekends and holiday coverage.</p>\n<p> </p>",
