    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Summary: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">A Construction Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties on construction sites. They may prepare sites by cleaning them, loading, or unloading materials, digging trenches, compacting earth, and removing hazards. Construction Laborers are essential to highway construction, utility construction, and environmental remediation.  This role will report to our Natural Gas division. </span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Whitaker Construction</span>, founded in 1953, has over 70 years of experience in the heavy civil and underground utility construction industry. Whitaker, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company, has become one of the largest contractors in the intermountain area with more than 600 employees and nearly 70 crews. We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Roles and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Including but not limited to the list below. </em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Use various equipment, hand, and power tools.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Proficient in the safe and efficient use of layout tools, and measurement tools. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Measure and mark pipes for cutting. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to load or unload construction materials, pipe, and equipment. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel, using pick, rake, shovel, etc. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Dig up existing pipes and lines. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Prepare ground trenches for pipes and utility lines. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Use chains, slings, or guide wires to rig pipes, trench boxes, and slide rail shoring systems. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Guide pipes and shoring devices into place, assisting the equipment operator. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Join, wrap, seal, and bed sections of underground pipe. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Remove, fill, or compact earth. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist with establishing alignment and grade with the use of grade stakes and lasers. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Coordinate all other activities in the excavation as directed. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work safely around heavy equipment, and people at all times. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist all craft workers. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform clean-up in connection with the work. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and standards of safety. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Move from job to job as projects progress </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Skills and Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Those with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.). </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be at least 18 years of age. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Display a willing attitude to learn from others. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Focus to work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment and underground utilities. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to work effectively in a team environment. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Applicants must possess a valid U.S. driver's license. and have reliable transportation to get to and from work. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements: </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
