Description

The Director of Vendor Compliance & Inbound Operations is a newly created role designed to close a critical accountability gap between vendor performance and field operations. This leader owns two interconnected mandates: holding the vendor network accountable to OTIF standards that directly protect site-level inventory availability and cost, and serving as the operational escalation authority for inbound and capacity issues surfaced by field teams across the MFC network. This role leads a team of Inbound Compliance Managers and operates at the intersection of supply chain planning, vendor relations, and field operations. The Director is expected to work with data, move quickly on escalations, and build systems that reduce the frequency and impact of inbound failures over time. At Gopuff, we know that life can be unpredictable. Sometimes you forget the milk at the store, run out of pet food for Fido, or just really need ice cream at 11 pm. We get it—stuff happens. But that’s where we come in, delivering all your wants and needs in just minutes. And now, we’re assembling a team of motivated people to help us drive forward that vision to bring a new age of convenience and predictability to an unpredictable world. Like what you’re hearing? Then join us on Team Blue. #LI-GOPUFF Gopuff is an equal employment opportunity employer, committed to an inclusive workplace where we do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, gender, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or familial status, age, ancestry, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws. We believe in diversity and encourage any qualified individual to apply. What We Offer Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan HSA or FSA eligibility Long and Short-Term Disability Insurance Fitness Reimbursement Program 25% employee discount & FAM Membership Flexible PTO Group Life Insurance EAP through AllOne Health (formerly Carebridge) Compensation: Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Exceptions may be made for exceptional individuals. For additional information on this role’s compensation package, please reach out to the designated recruiter for this role. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in Gopuff’s equity incentive plan. Base Salary Range : $152,000 - $190,000 What You Will Do: Vendor Compliance & OTIF Accountability Own and enforce OTIF performance standards across the vendor network, including fill rate, delivery window adherence, and short-ship accountability Establish and manage vendor scorecards with defined performance thresholds, consequence frameworks, and escalation paths for chronic underperformance Lead regular business reviews with key vendors and distributors, translating data findings into clear corrective action requirements Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain Planning to align vendor contract terms with operational compliance standards Track and report on network-wide OTIF trends, identifying systemic vendor failures before they create downstream site-level impact Field Escalation Management & Inbound Operations Serve as the senior escalation point for inbound and capacity issues raised by field operators, area managers, and site leads across the MFC network Triage escalations rapidly — separating vendor-caused failures from site-caused failures using operational data — and drive resolution with the appropriate counterpart Identify patterns across escalations that indicate systemic planning, scheduling, or vendor compliance failures requiring structural intervention Partner with DC and supply chain planning teams to ensure revised buy plans, volume changes, and schedule updates are communicated to field operators before inbound begins Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for inbound receiving, damage attribution, and capacity escalation that drive consistency across the network Team Leadership Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of Inbound Compliance Managers responsible for regional vendor relationships and site-level inbound support Set clear performance expectations for the team and build a culture of data-driven decision making, operational urgency, and vendor accountability Establish consistent frameworks, tools, and reporting cadences across the team to ensure scalable and repeatable compliance operations Complexity & Impact: This role operates at the intersection of vendor performance management and field operations, requiring the ability to navigate competing priorities across a high-velocity, multi-vendor inbound network while maintaining accountability standards that directly protect site-level profitability. The complexity of this role stems from three dimensions. First, vendor relationships span distributors of varying scale, cadence, and reliability — from large national distributors delivering thousands of units per week across the network to regional and specialty vendors with unpredictable delivery patterns. Holding these vendors accountable to OTIF standards requires both analytical rigor and the interpersonal credibility to drive behavior change without damaging supply continuity. Second, field escalations are time-sensitive and often ambiguous — sites present narratives around damage, capacity, and labor that require the ability to quickly interrogate data, separate operational failure from vendor failure, and make attribution decisions that have direct P&L consequences. Third, this role serves as a critical communication bridge between supply chain planning systems and field operators — a gap that, when it breaks down, results in sites receiving significantly more inbound volume than they are staffed or have capacity to handle, driving downstream damage, OOS, and shrink. The impact of this role is felt directly in three areas: vendor fill rate and delivery compliance across the inbound network, reduction in site-level damage and shrink attributable to receiving process failures, and the speed and accuracy with which field teams receive support during inbound escalations. Consistent OTIF enforcement and timely escalation resolution translate directly into improved inventory availability, lower loss rates, and stronger operational predictability for the MFC network. What We're Looking For: 8–12 years of experience in supply chain operations, vendor management, or field operations — with meaningful exposure to both vendor-facing accountability and site-level operational execution Demonstrated experience holding vendors accountable to OTIF or equivalent performance standards, including leading business reviews and managing corrective action processes Strong analytical capability — able to quickly read operational data, identify root cause, and make clear attribution decisions under time pressure Experience managing or supporting field operations teams, with an understanding of how inbound planning failures translate into site-level execution problems Proven track record of leading teams and building scalable compliance or operations frameworks Excellent communication and influence skills — comfortable presenting findings to senior leadership and having direct performance conversations with vendors Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and escalations are frequent Experience in quick-commerce, grocery, or multi-site fulfillment environments is a strong plus.
