    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p><strong><u>THIS POSITION IS ON CALL -FLEXIBILE SCHEDULE WITH SATURDAY AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Weighs vehicles and charges and collects appropriate payment of fees.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Six (6) months of experience in a closely related field emphasizing card and cash handling, balancing, and customer service.</p>\n<p>Preference for experience with point-of-sale software.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Uses scale and ticketing system to weigh incoming loads and charge customers appropriately.</li>\n <li>Identifies hazardous, unauthorized, or unacceptable waste. Monitors radiation detectors for high readings.</li>\n <li>Coordinates activities with Environmental Manager and Inspectors to admit only permissible materials.</li>\n <li>Prepares daily cash reports.</li>\n <li>Prepares daily reports for inbound and outbound customer traffic.</li>\n <li>Performs accurate cash handling duties.</li>\n <li>Directs vehicles to scales to expedite the flow of traffic.</li>\n <li>Answers customer inquiries and provides information related to landfill operations and various types of waste.</li>\n <li>Provides instruction to customers on proper disposal of various waste materials.</li>\n <li>Performs data entry duties to maintain vehicle and document files related to customer accounts.</li>\n <li>Assists with ensuring safe and efficient operation of the scales.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u> </u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge of:</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Computer software related to job-specific duties</li>\n <li>General business transactions</li>\n <li>Cash register and cash drawer operations, including change-making</li>\n <li>Customer service and public relations</li>\n <li>Directing traffic/flagging</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities to: </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operate a personal computer, general office equipment, 2-way radios, telephones, and point of sale software</li>\n <li>Work cooperatively, courteously, and positively with co-workers and the public</li>\n <li>Maintain productivity and accuracy during high traffic conditions</li>\n <li>Communicate and follow verbal and written instructions</li>\n <li>Accurately calculate weight and pricing costs in event of electronic scale and software failure</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Work in a climate-controlled scale house with dust, noise, and vehicles fumes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>",
