Description Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Currently, CNCA has six campuses that serve approximately 3,500 students from TK through 12 th grade. Essential Functions Under the immediate supervision of the school psychologist, the psychologist intern will: Conduct psycho-educational evaluations for special education, including writing reports and attending IEP meetings. Participate in and present in IEP meetings Participate in the SST process Provide support with the Student Success Team (SST) process for administration, teachers and support staff Conduct systematic behavioral observations of students in a variety of settings Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and community resources regarding students in special education as well as regular education Participate in a school program, such as the crisis intervention team, develop 504 accommodations, and refer to outside agencies Provide DIS Counseling (individual and group setting) and early intervention for students showing signs of having learning difficulties or other difficulties hindering their academic progress, including but not limited to social skills training, anger management, conflict resolution, and peer mediation Other duties as assigned Compensation: $16,000 per school year; Half paid 12/15 and the other paid 06/30 Location: CNCA School Site as Assigned Supervisor : Lead School Psychologist Work Periods : Full Time, 183 Student Service Days Direct Supervision Exercised : None Class : Classified, Exempt NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation and bullying in educational programs, activities, or employment on the basis of actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, parental, pregnancy, family or marital status, military status or association with a person or a group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.
