SK2 is a free program for our community.  We have 80 students in our program that are from various cultural and social economic backgrounds. The Classroom Leader will implement the program and schedule that the Education Programing Specialist has created for the semester for their classroom. The nature of the tasks and responsibilities will change to some degree based upon the program they are assisting in; but their character and attitude must always promote the Christian faith and be in keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Duties</strong><strong>  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare classroom for the day</li>\n <li>Take attendance and check in youth using an iPad and paper check in sheet if the system is down</li>\n <li>Create classroom expectations for the youth to follow in the classroom</li>\n <li>Write Incident Reports when needed and use the official communication equipment (radios)</li>\n <li>Must attend all trainings and meetings</li>\n <li>Demonstrate an ability to interact well with children of all ages</li>\n <li>Use excellent communication skills to work positively with different staff members/ church members/ students/ and all Kroc guests</li>\n <li>Complete end of day tasks i.e. Sanitize classroom surfaces, organize supplies, reset room for possible use for non-SK2 events</li>\n <li>Have a great attitude and a willingness to assist wherever needed</li>\n <li>Must possess the ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in the schedule and/or duties</li>\n <li>Ensure that safe and healthy environment exists for participants </li>\n <li>Plan activities or games based on ages group</li>\n <li>Interact and promote the participation of the children in all activities or plans for the day</li>\n <li>Assist children as they complete their homework and/or lead reading and math activities/games </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have High School Diploma or equivalent </li>\n <li>Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly, in English</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a team environment, take the lead when needed, and follow the directions of The Salvation Army Team</li>\n <li>Enjoy working with children</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to work and relate well with individuals with varying needs </li>\n <li>Be able to handle difficult situations in a professional manner</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have some experience working with children in a traditional or non-traditional (Sunday School, Scouts) setting</li>\n <li>Must possess an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army</li>\n <li>Must be safety conscious</li>\n <li>Display good character through word and actions </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>The Salvation Army’s Mission StatementThe Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.Its message is based on the Bible.
