Ottawa University Kansas Residential and OU Online Campuses invite candidates for a full-time, 12-month Anatomy/Physiology Faculty Position . The successful candidate will be r esponsible for providing high-quality, engaging, in-person instruction in anatomy and physiology for the Physician Assistant (PA) program at the Overland Park Professional and Online campus, and the undergraduate program at the Ottawa Residential campus. Instruction will include the use of the Anatomage Table, lecture presentations, and interactive discussions to enhance learner understanding of human anatomy and physiological function. Course content will align with University and PA curriculum standards as well as mission, vision, values, and competencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Advising
Will teach 10 courses (typically 30 credit hours), at the Overland Park and Ottawa campuses.
Deliver in-person anatomy and physiology instruction and lab using the Anatomage Table for the PA program, lectures, and interactive learning strategies.
Utilize 3D visualization and virtual dissection technology to support anatomy education.
Reinforce anatomical and physiology concepts through case-based learning relevant to clinical practice.
Maintain high teaching standards using engaging pedagogy and best practices in graduate medical education for PA and post-secondary education for undergraduate.
Stay current in anatomy and physiology education, including technology-enhanced teaching methods.
Evaluate learner performance through quizzes, exams, and practical assessments.
Provide remediation instruction as needed to support learner success.
Complete course evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Offer academic guidance to learners and identify opportunities for success.
Support learner retention efforts.
Follow the standardized course syllabus while integrating professional expertise into classroom delivery.
Provide contact information and maintain accessibility for learners during the course term.
Create a supportive and learner-centered learning environment.
Promote Ottawa University to the community and use Ottawa.edu email for communications.
Providing academic advising to students majoring or minoring in the discipline. Outside formal academic advising relationships, faculty also provide mentoring, support, guidance, and other assistance as requested by students and/or the student’s advisor.
Service
Participate with faculty in governance issues related to curriculum and course development and revisions.
Contribute to the residential needs and student life at OUKS by voluntarily serving as advisor to student organizations, regularly attending Campus events and Spirit Life activities, serving on student grievance (or development) committees and providing other engaged support to the Campus environment and life as directed by the Dean.
Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts for campus growth and sustainability by participating in the interviewing process, orientation, mentoring, and development of new faculty as needed.
Participate in Campus and University-wide governance in responding to and engaging in dialogue related to academic issues across the university.
Participate in Campus and University-wide committee work, including on-going committees, program assessments, task-oriented committees or task forces, and other projects or committees as requested.
Scholarship
Maintain awareness of contemporary trends and evolving knowledge within one’s academic discipline and in the liberal arts through research, creative work, writing, conference attendance (either virtually or at designated location), public presentations (in-person and virtually), and other involvement in the regional and national community of higher education professionals.
Assessment
Maintain effective curricula through participation in university-wide assessment processes.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education : Master’s degree in science discipline required with 18 graduate credits in anatomy and physiology or related discipline. PhD, or doctorate required to teach at the master’s level. If a PA, must be NCCPA-certified and eligible for a Kansas or Missouri license. MD, DO, or APRN must be eligible for a Kansas or Missouri license.
Experience :
Demonstrated expertise in human anatomy with experience teaching at the graduate medical or physician assistant education level.
Prior teaching experience using cadaveric dissection, prosection, or advanced anatomy visualization tools (e.g., Anatomage Table) in an accredited medical or PA program preferred.
Strong understanding of clinically relevant anatomy and ability to integrate anatomical concepts with patient care examples.
Experience developing and delivering lectures, laboratory sessions, and assessments for adult learners in a medical education setting.
Familiarity with active learning strategies, case-based teaching, and technology-enhanced instruction in anatomy.
Required skills and abilities :
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Program faculty must be qualified through academic preparation and/or experience to teach anatomy and physiology.
Program faculty must be knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology course content and effective in teaching.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is required. Position will divide time between Overland Park and Ottawa, Kansas campuses.
