Job description: Overview Join our dedicated team as a Behavior Technician where your compassionate approach and proactive mindset will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this vital role, you will support clinical staff by providing direct patient care, assisting with behavioral health interventions, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other behavioral needs. Your energetic participation will help foster early developmental progress and promote positive outcomes through attentive support and precise documentation. Responsibilities Complete the required 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician training course prior to their scheduled date of hire (minimum of 5 days to complete). Receive general direction and work under the general guidance of the BCBA and clinical administration and collaborate with the supporting staff. Support and assists with the completion of day-to-day therapy tasks and activities in accordance with applicable child treatment plan goals and objectives. Observe and assists with the implementation of child’s treatment plans and group instructional activities. Ensure assigned checklist tasks and activities are completed timely and appropriately. Collect and record objective, measurable data in accordance with company protocols and BACB standards such as Session Note completion. Follow all supervision requirements, including accepting feedback and participating in scheduled supervision sessions. Gather, assemble, and organize materials in the therapy room, as appropriate. Assist in observing and interpreting child activities while in the therapy room. Assist with data collection and reporting of child learning progress. Apply basic working knowledge and understanding of each child’s treatment plan skill acquisition short- and long-term goals and behavioral intervention plan (antecedent and proactive procedures). Provide general feedback and updates to the BCBA, clinical administration, and supporting staff regarding therapy room activities, tasks, and general observations. Adhere to and demonstrates appropriate childcare standards and practices, and consistently adheres to all company policies, procedures, and practices of Kaleidoscope Interventions. (Per Employee Handbook and company SOP’s). Ensure a clean, safe, attractive, and functional learning environment. Monitor children for signs of child abuse, and reports incidents of suspected abuse to appropriate staff (BCBA and clinical administration) and personnel immediately. Attend meetings, events and seminars as required by Kaleidoscope Interventions. Consistently demonstrate a high level of integrity, responsibility, accountability, teamwork, and ethics. Assist RBT/BCaBA/BCBA with children who are not in problem behavior when other children are engaged in problem behavior. Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training. Maintain client confidentiality. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working directly with children in educational, clinical, or therapeutic settings is highly preferred. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder enhances your effectiveness in this role, preferred but not required. Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach will enable you to build trusting relationships with children and families alike.
