    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Nemours is seeking a Pharmacy Student Intern - First Year Rising (Casual/PRN), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.</strong></p><p>FIRST-YEAR RISING (accepted to start first year of Pharmacy school in FALL 2026) Pharmacy STUDENT INTERN position.&nbsp; Works varying 8 hour AM &amp; PM shifts during the Monday-Friday work week while not in school plus an every other weekend commitment throughout the year including a Holiday rotation.<br>MUST be able to commit to full-time training upfront during the Summer prior to the start of FALL semester in 2026 and during any additional breaks during the school year in order to get trained in all areas in the first year of employment.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>This Pharmacy Student Intern position is responsible for providing Pharmacy Services within the Inpatient Pharmacy Department and the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida (NCHFL). &nbsp;The position, under the direct operational supervision of a licensed pharmacist, is responsible for the preparation (including technical aspects of preparation) and delivery of medications to be dispensed to patients and providing customer service to internal and external customers.&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Demonstrates familiarity with the general duties of a Pharmacy technician including&nbsp; knowledge, and maintenance of competency and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the position to which he/she is assigned which may include: unit dose cart fill, Pyxis functionality, IV preparation (e.g. syringes, admixtures, chemotherapy, continuous renal replacement therapy, total parenteral nutrition, etc.), unit dose packaging,&nbsp; barcoding, Unit inspections, oral liquid compounding, stock inventory maintenance and replenishment and code cart exchange process.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Performs aseptic compounding of parenteral admixtures and other sterile dosage forms. This includes wearing appropriate personnel protective equipment, the practice of aseptic technique, proper procedure for preparing all types of parenteral admixtures (including chemotherapy or other specialty solutions).</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Performs various functions associated with NCH drug distribution system. This includes, but is not limited to, the preparation of medications for patients, the completion of necessary dispensing records, and the delivery and exchange of medications.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Cross trains to perform Pharmacy technician responsibilities in the Inpatient Pharmacy.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Carries out the calculations required for the usual dosage determination and solutions preparation, using weight and volume equivalents in the metric system.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Carries out rules and regulations pertaining to the professional policies of the pharmacy department and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Understands operation and functionality of equipment and technology including (e.g. automatic dispensing cabinets, pump technology, packager, etc.) to support the Pharmacy.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Able to maintain punctual attendance consistent with Nemours policies, regulatory, and federal, state, and local standards.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Strong communications skills are required.&nbsp; Prepared to interact with both internal and external customers and respond appropriately.</span></li></ul><p><span><strong>Job Requirements</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Must be enrolled in an Accredited School of Pharmacy.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Florida Pharmacy Intern licensure must be obtained by December 31st of first year of Pharmacy School.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Florida Pharmacy Technician licensure required – only applies if employed prior to receipt of Pharmacy Intern Licensure.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Previous Pharmacy experience preferred.</span></li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\"><span>Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.</span></li></ul><p><span>#LI-EP1</span></p>",
