Description

Position Summary The Associate Director, Academic and Student Affairs directs and supports the work of faculty curriculum committees to ensure the timely and accurate review, approval, and revision of academic programs and courses. The role provides strategic oversight for a wide range of academic and student affairs functions across the Courant Institute, including the administration and reconciliation of student financial aid and funding, as well as coordination of student research activities. The Associate Director also manages internal and external fellowship and award nomination processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strong advocacy for students. The Associate Director, Academic and Student Affairs interprets and applies University policies to plan, manage, and resolve moderately complex academic and administrative matters. The role is responsible for implementing approved changes to academic programs and degree requirements, ensuring alignment with institutional standards and seamless execution across departments. Serving as a key partner to faculty leadership, the Associate Director advances the academic mission of the Institute through effective coordination, policy execution, and student‑centered administrative support. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field Required Experience: 5+ years relevant professional level experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, management, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to oversee a variety of services in a fast-paced environment. Ability to solve problems and interact with individuals at all levels. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
