This role combines front-line lifeguarding and swim instruction responsibilities with leadership duties including staff support, scheduling assistance, training coordination, and program operations.</p>\n\n<p>This position plays an important role in building a positive aquatic experience while upholding the YMCA&rsquo;s Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.</p>\n\n<p>What You&rsquo;ll Do:</p>\n\n<p>&bull; Support the Aquatics Director with staff supervision, scheduling, and daily operations<br />\n&bull; Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment<br />\n&bull; Average a minimum of 25 hours per week guarding shifts or teaching swim lessons (seasonal adjustments may apply)<br />\n&bull; Average a minimum of 15 hours per week completing leadership duties (not to exceed 40 total hours weekly)<br />\n&bull; Assist with coordinating special events including swim meets, pool parties, and birthday parties<br />\n&bull; Recruit, support, and help train aquatics staff to maintain high safety and program standards<br />\n&bull; Maintain accurate records including water readings, schedules, and cleaning logs<br />\n&bull; Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed properly<br />\n&bull; Help prepare pools and facilities for inspections<br />\n&bull; Enforce aquatic rules, procedures, and safety guidelines<br />\n&bull; Address member concerns professionally and positively<br />\n&bull; Communicate important information to the Aquatics Director in a timely manner<br />\n&bull; Attend and assist with in-service trainings<br />\n&bull; Report facility issues, safety concerns, or policy violations to supervisors<br />\n&bull; Perform additional duties and trainings as assigned</p>\n\n<p>What We&rsquo;re Looking For:</p>\n\n<p>&bull; Passion for aquatics, safety, and youth development<br />\n&bull; Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills<br />\n&bull; Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced situations<br />\n&bull; Dependable, mature, and safety-focused mindset<br />\n&bull; Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds<br />\n&bull; Thorough knowledge of aquatic programming preferred<br />\n&bull; Professional appearance for both leadership and front-line duties</p>\n",
