We firmly believe that diversity fosters innovation and contributes to the success of Arrow.</strong></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>In Business since 1919 and still growing, Arrow is a leader in bulk commodity hauling, reload operations, freight management, logistics, consulting, and technology with operations throughout Canada and the U.S.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for professional <strong>Class 1 Truck Drivers</strong> to join us and become part of our Arrow family in <strong>Armstrong, BC</strong>. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As an Arrow driver, you will haul wood fibre locally in B-train trailers, primarily transporting wood chips, as well as sawdust and hog fuel. Your travel will start in Armstrong and use various highways throughout the Interior of BC, including Hwy 1 (Coquihalla), Hwy 5, and Hwy 97.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations</li>\n <li>Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance</li>\n <li>Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions</li>\n <li>Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics</li>\n <li>Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned</li>\n <li>May operate loading equipment as per role requirements</li>\n <li>Check mobile equipment (i.e. frontend loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order</li>\n <li>Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor</li>\n <li>Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites</li>\n <li>Record, Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate</li>\n <li>Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers</li>\n <li>Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers</li>\n <li>Assist in loading and unloading of trucks</li>\n <li>Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure</li>\n <li>Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
