Our benefits include: Medical coverage on date of hire 100% employer paid cash balance pension plan 401(k) with company match fully vested on date of hire Minimum of 15 days paid vacation and 12 paid holidays Paid parental leave and family caregiver leave Visit our Benefits & Perks Page for more information on benefits provided to regular full-time employees. ​ About The Position The   Nuclear   Technical   Instructor   develops, administers and maintains training programs to support the overall Qualification Programs established at Callaway Energy Center (CEC) and maintains full accreditation for the CEC for their specific discipline, ensuring that the CEC is in full compliance with the requirements for accredit ed programs   under the National Academy for Nuclear Training.     Instructors maximize student learning by providing quality training to maintain and improve worker knowledge and skills and improve plant performance. Key responsibilities include: Administer formal classroom training to include: Classroom, Laboratory/Simulator instruction Preparation, administration, and grading of examinations Evaluation of trainee performance Scheduling and coordinating training course presentations with appropriate department personnel S upport implementation of   an effective and efficient Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) that meets or exceeds industry standards and is institutionalized into plant procedures and processes. Support   subject matter experts and vendors providing on-site and off-site training within the appropriate discipline area. Monitor   Condition Reports   and industry trends   for potential   areas of weakness for Operating Experience applicability   into lesson plans. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all training conducted in accordance with applicable procedures and criteria. Actively participate in training programs to maintain individual qualifications. Participate in in-plant activities   and field time   to maintain required licenses, certifications, and technical proficiency. Provide   refueling outage support for preparations, in-processing training, and/or filling assigned outage position . Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned   E RO facilities within the required RERP response time. Technical Level Knowledge   –   Under guidance,   develops fundamental understanding of the overall training program.    Possesses working knowledge of   subject matter in technical area.   Learning training program standards . Job Complexity   –   Intermediate skill level for administering training with significant technical   area knowledge. Supervision   –   Receives general guidance and supervision on work assignments with more detailed instruction on new   assignments. Leadership   – Provides peer reviews and feedback . Qualifications Nuclear Technical Instructor Bachelor's Degree   from an accredited   college or university   is required.   Two (2 )   or more years   of   relevant   professional or   journey level   experience required   (relevant experience includes   experience in engineering,   experience working in the area of instructional focus, e.g. mechanical, electrical or I&C maintenance or rad/chem, OR   experience as a technical instructor   in the area of   technical instruction ) .   In lieu of a   Bachelor's   degree ,   a   relevant   Associate's Degree   and   2   additional   years   (4 total)   o r a High School Diploma and 4 additional years (6 total)   o f   the   aforementioned types   of experiences may be considered.   Previous training   instructor   experience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training accredited program preferred. Senior Technical Instructor   Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.  Five (5) or more years of relevant professional or journey level experience required (relevant experience includes experience   in engineering, experience   working   in the area of   instructional focus, e.g.   radiation protection or chemistry   or   experience as a technical instructor in the   relevant   area). In lieu of a   Bachelor's   degree, a relevant   Associate's Degree   and 2   additional years (7 total) or a High School Diploma and 4 additional years (9 total) of the   aforementioned types   of experiences may be considered. Previous training instructor experience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training accredited program preferred. I n addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to supervise and motivate personnel, dependability and good human relations characteristics required.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office software preferred.  Basic understanding of   Computer Based Training preferred.  Basic knowledge of Learning Management Systems preferred. Qualified candidates are required to establish and maintain their permanent residence within sixty highway miles of the Callaway Energy Center.  Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access. Working Conditions The   Nuclear Instructor   works a standard day shift in an office/plant environment.   Callouts and working rotating or Outage schedules may be required to support plant operations. Additional Information Ameren’s selection process includes a series   of   interviews and may include   a leadership assessment process.    Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Compensation Range: $84,400.00 - $162,900.00 * This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials. At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
