Description We’re Hiring: Mechanical Designer | Remote-Friendly | Join a Growing Employee-Owned Firm! HFA is looking for a seasoned Mechanical Designer ready to step into a leadership role within a fast-growing, employee-owned firm that’s redefining excellence in building design and construction. What You’ll Be Doing: Oversee a range of projects including adaptive reuse, ground-up construction, and capital improvements for locations nationwide. We seek an individual ready to step into a leadership position, managing: a program, projects, people, timelines, and have a solid understanding of quality construction documentation, and having a heart to help develop others. Ensure design excellence through quality control and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams. Work under a licensed PE and play a key role in project delivery and client satisfaction. Know your way around Revit and confident in performing load calculations, specifying equipment and providing plumbing system design. Can apply applicable ASHRAE standards, and local mechanical code standards with minimal supervision and have a working knowledge these items. Bonus points if you’ve handled specs and have experience collaborating with architects, structural and electrical engineers. Job Requirements include but are not limited to: Work with Mechanical Engineer and/or Mechanical Design lead to communicate with client, deliver completed construction documents, and assist in construction administration as required for most project types. Utilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for most project and/or project type (or at least major portions), as well as, solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on a project or simple projects. Designer should be able to apply their knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized national standards to simple projects, with minimal oversight from Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Design Team Lead. Designer should have a thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as Trane Trace, and be able to apply throughout the design process. Designer should have a basic understanding of energy codes and how it impacts design. Able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for small to medium projects. Job Duties include but are not limited to: Proficient in REVIT. Designer should be able to train new employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and answer most technical design questions on simple projects for HVAC and plumbing, as well as, possess a basic understanding of national standards (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE). Designer will have a good understanding of Trane Trace. Work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including performing some project management functions, quality control, or other duties as necessary. Able to provide a high level of quality control on all their projects and possibly others, for final review by the Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Design Lead. Designer will, in some cases, have direct client contact. Ability to work within established budgets. Depending upon supervisor and client needs, Designer will be responsible for financial success of projects also. Able to select and design HVAC systems and equipment, controls and provide energy calculations with minimal supervision on simple systems. Able to edit specifications for small to medium size projects. Flexibility is more than a perk here &mdash; it&#39;s part of our DNA.\\n\\nYou&rsquo;re a Fit If You:\\n\\nHave solid experience in HVAC and Plumbing design for commercial buildings.&nbsp;\\n\\nKnow your way around Revit and confident in&nbsp;performing load calculations, specifying equipment and providing plumbing system design.&nbsp;\\n\\nCan apply applicable ASHRAE standards, and local mechanical code standards with minimal supervision and have a working knowledge these items.\\n\\nBonus points if you&rsquo;ve handled specs and have experience collaborating with architects, structural and electrical engineers.\\n&nbsp;\\n\\nJob Requirements include but are not limited to:\\n\\n\\n\\tWork with Mechanical Engineer and/or Mechanical Design lead to communicate with client, deliver completed construction documents, and assist in construction administration as required for most project types.\\n\\tUtilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for most project and/or project type (or at least major portions), as well as, solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on a project or simple projects.\\n\\tDesigner should be able to apply their knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized national standards to simple projects, with minimal oversight from Mechanical\\n\\tEngineer or Mechanical Design Team Lead. Designer should have a thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as Trane Trace, and be able to apply throughout the design process. Designer should have a basic understanding of energy codes and how it impacts design.\\n\\tAble to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for small to medium projects.\\n\\n\\nJob Duties include but are not limited to:\\n\\n\\n\\tProficient in &nbsp;REVIT. Designer should be able to train new employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and answer most technical design questions on simple projects for HVAC and plumbing, as well as, possess a basic understanding of national standards (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE). Designer will have a good understanding of Trane Trace.\\n\\tWork in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients&#39; requirements, including performing some project management functions, quality control, or other duties as necessary.\\n\\tAble to provide a high level of quality control on all their projects and possibly others, for final review by the Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Design Lead.\\n\\tDesigner will, in some cases, have direct client contact.\\n\\tAbility to&nbsp;work within established budgets.
