Description

Job purpose Operates a saw to cut wood parts for applications in furniture manufacturing. Duties and responsibilities Uses a saw to cut wood parts into straight- cut dimensions and pattern- cuts. Follows patterns with non-stop cutting of saw blade. Reads instruction and production sheets to complete daily production goals. Responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep of the saw. Works in accordance with Company Safety practices Maintains neat and clean work area. Follows all quality standards and inspection requirements. Regular attendance and compliance with all work schedules. All other duties as assigned Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work in a fast-paced production line environment. Prior work experience in furniture manufacturing. Prior experience using a foam bandsaw? Preferred Prior working experience in a furniture manufacturing environment. Working conditions This job operates primarily in a plant environment but also includes work in the office and warehousing areas. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, bend, stoop, kneel and twist and lift up to 50 pounds; hold and operate air powered tools weighing approximately 2 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time and use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Job is in a location in a plant where the temperature can be hot or cold depending on the weather.
