    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Title:</span> Overnight Security Guard<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports To:</span> CMLS Director of Operations<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Employment Status:</span> Full-Time Hourly (Overnight Shift)<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location:</span> City Mission–Living Stones Properties</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary:</span></p>\n<p>The Overnight Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of City Mission–Living Stones properties, personnel, and residents during overnight hours. This position involves routine foot and vehicle patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to alarms or disturbances, and documenting incidents. The role requires a vigilant and professional individual with excellent communication, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills.</p>\n<p>This position requires the ability to work independently and maintain calm under pressure, particularly in emergency situations or during interactions with the public. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and the ability to pass all required background checks and clearances are required.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Job Functions:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Patrol &amp; Monitoring:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of all City Mission properties during overnight hours.</li>\n<li>Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious behavior, or safety hazards.</li>\n<li>Operate surveillance equipment, including cameras and alarm systems, and respond promptly to alerts or threats.</li>\n<li>Ensure all access points are secure and report any irregularities or maintenance concerns.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Response &amp; Incident Management:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, alarms, or security breaches.</li>\n<li>Assist clients or members of the public who come to the facility during overnight hours and direct them to appropriate staff or resources.</li>\n<li>Maintain professional composure and communication during stressful situations or confrontations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Documentation &amp; Reporting:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete detailed and accurate incident reports for all security-related events or activities.</li>\n<li>Maintain a daily activity log to document patrols, checks, and noteworthy observations.</li>\n<li>Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or policy violations to the Operations Supervisor.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Facility Safety &amp; Maintenance:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that the security office and patrol equipment are kept clean, orderly, and in good working condition.</li>\n<li>Check that security lighting and surveillance systems are functioning properly; report malfunctions promptly.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education:</span> Associate degree in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred; high school diploma or GED required.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span> Minimum of one year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Licensing:</span> Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required; must meet—and maintain—insurance carrier guidelines for driving eligibility throughout employment.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Background:</span> Must pass all required organizational background checks and clearances.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Competencies:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n<li>Excellent observational awareness and attention to detail</li>\n<li>Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations</li>\n<li>Working knowledge of emergency response, first aid, and fire safety preferred</li>\n<li>High level of personal integrity and ability to handle confidential information</li>\n<li>Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods of time</li>\n<li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.</li>\n<li>Capable of responding quickly in emergency situations, including running or climbing stairs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime</li>\n<li>Exposure to outdoor weather conditions year-round during patrols</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">City Mission–Living Stones Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer</span> and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status in its hiring and employment practices.</p>",
