It dominated the downtown skyline during a thriving era of Dallas banking and West Texas oil booms. Downtown Dallas flourished through the ’80s, but as the 20th century drew to a close, it was a shadow of its former glory. A decade of development deals and massive renovations transformed the then-vacant bank building into a Forbes four-star boutique hotel. Aptly named after the international unit of energy, The Joule brought a charge to downtown Dallas when it opened in 2008. Through a series of further renovations and expansions as adjacent properties became available, The Joule has become a cultural, shopping, and dining destination—a forerunner in the renaissance of downtown Dallas.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The House Attendant is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all assigned areas and equipment. They are also responsible for delivering items to guestrooms.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Greet and acknowledge guests in a courteous and friendly manner.</li>\n <li>Inspect assigned areas and perform cleaning tasks accordingly. </li>\n <li>Collect trash from the service landings and dispose of in outside trash dumpsters.</li>\n <li>Vacuum and dust guest corridors.</li>\n <li>Pick up bed and other linen from hotel floors and transport to laundry collection site.</li>\n <li>Deliver clean linen to assigned sections.</li>\n <li>Report maintenance issues.</li>\n <li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest areas.</li>\n <li>Respond to guest inquiries and assistance.</li>\n <li>Work as a room attendant when staffing shortages occur or during peak periods.</li>\n <li>Ensure overall guest satisfaction.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as requested by management.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.</li>\n <li>Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.</li>\n <li>Ability to stand during entire shift.</li>\n <li>Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.</li>\n</ul>",
